This sounds great. Wordpress has needed a decent membership plug-in, and now it looks like this might be the answer. Nice.

I recently purchased the Your Members wordpress plugin. It's not live yet, but I really like how it works!

Hi Folks, I know the update for this plugin has been a long time coming, and I htank you for your patience. Long story short, my developer had some personal problems he needed to sort out. I was loathe to palm this off to another developer due to continuity issues, and because I really wanted to give the work to my current developer once he had worked through his family problems. Here are the updates coming with the next version: #1: The ability to disable accounts that shared passwords (i.e. 3 IP addresses over a 24 hour period on the same account) -- #2 Integration with Clickbank IPN. This is so we can utilise the clickbank affiliate program for recurring payments. #3 An option to make all content visible to website visitors and restrict only the posts you want to? This would basically be the opposite of how it functions now. So One or the other, but selectable by the user in the options? E.g. 'Show all content' OR 'Hide all content'. 'Hide all content' is how it currently operates. #4 The ability to add subscribers to an autoresponder service. #5 integration with other Wordpress roles other than Subscriber, so members can pay to post content as well as just paying to view restricted areas of your wordpress blog. If you set the default new user role to Contributor, you will still have the ability to approve all posts. Setting the default role to Author will allow paid up members to make their posts and have them visible immediately on your blog. The good news is that everybody who has already purchased will get all this functionality free in the next few weeks. I am bumping this WSO one last time before I push the price up after the new version comes out. Get it while it's cheap! |

This looks great - I missed it the last time around! One thing I couldn't find in the posts - does this drip content or does a new member immediately have access to all content? Thanks! Melody |

Hi Melody, Members will get instant access to all protected content. However they will only see current posts. So if you have future posts, or some other drip feed system like caffeinated content it will work in nicely with this plugin. |

I'd like to allow "any" surfer to read the blog, but only "paid" (and approved") members to post. And I'd really like to approve even "paid" posts before they become visible. Will this allow this? |

Hi Leesr, There are several aspects to your question, so I will address them separately. 1) Yes, any content can be made visible - as long as it is not tagged as protected. This is current functionality. 2) Paid members can be defaulted to the "Contributor" role. The "Contribuor" role can contribute content, but it must be approved before going live on the site. Currently, if you set default new member role to Contributor, it is not integrated with the Paypal IPN feature of the plugin. The outcome of this is that a new user may register, be directed to the payment button to pay for their membership, then not pay. However, in the background WP has already sent the password details to the user - so they can post content to be approved. Currently, you would have to check the user against a list of paid members manually. There is a change request that will be included in the next version of the plugin to allow the process described above to be fully automated. So if a user signs up, the system will not send them their password details until Paypal IPN confirms their payment, thus negating the requirement to manually check them against a list of approved members. So, in short, yes we can do half of what you want. And yes, the other half of what you want will be automated in the next version, but you can perform it manually in the meantime if you want to get started with this version straight away. ![]() I hope this helps! |

Hi Artsub, Sorry, I am not familiar with Paypal Pro. The plugin integrates directly with Paypal using Paypal IPN. |

In your ipn when you receive the postback parameters form paypal, check TWO things which will virtually eliminate any hacking (btw, I use it for my own software at sitemanpro.com) 1. Check the business paypal email id - this will ensure that someone has not modified your paypal code, replaced your paypalid with his own, paid to himself from his 2nd paypal id and access your product.. This one is really important... 2. Check the amount you receive (mc_gross or amt3) from paypal and match it with the price stored in your db. If the price received is less, show a polite message "hey hacker, stay away".. ![]() Hope this helps. Thanks, Deep | |

Hi Deep, We will include the anti-hacking measures for this version. Total sales and revenue have not been planned, but I can put it on the wish list. Leigh. |

Hello Jane Hope you see this, you have exceeded your stored pm's by the way and need to clear out your inbox so people can pm you. I tried sending this via pm but it won't go to you until you have a clear out ![]() Here is a copy of the pm I tried to send: Hi Jane I am a member of your support forum after buying your WP Member Site (nice product by the way). Your forum seems to have been attacked by spammers (perhaps change the registration process to stop them, from anyone can register to everyone has to be approved, then they can't register and post like they are, I had this happen on a forum of mine). At the moment we are not getting support there, unless there is a different place I am not aware of? My problem is minor I hope and I hope you can help. I am in the process of setting up my membership site and so am not taking actual members yet, however, I added a subscriber today myself so that I can let one of my previous clients onto the site to see the tutorials on there and I had told her she won't have to pay as she is a client of mine for other services (and I need a test member for which she fits the bill LOL). So I added her and then logged in as her and although I can see she is logged in via the comment area, she is not seeing the full protected content. How can I make it so she can see all protected content without having to pay? Thanks for any help Sue |

Hi Sue, Thanks for the heads up about the forum. We are in the process of consolidating the support for all our products to one area. Details will be released shortly. Currently there is no way to add free members. It is on our list of inclusions fo rthe next release. Regards, Leigh. |

V3.0 of the plugin has now been released. It is compatible with WP3.x. New in version 3.0 The ability to select a global setting Hide all content (default) or View all content. The ‘Hide all content’ setting is the same default setting the previous version of the plugin had. All content is hidden by default, and only content contained in the [tag] begin read [/tag] and [tag] end read [/tag] tags is revealed to non-logged in users. A message is placed in each post saying ‘This is only an excerpt of the post. To access the entire contents of this post, please login or click here to Register.’ The ‘View all content’ setting shows all content on the blog by default. Only content contained in the [tag] begin read [/tag] and [tag] end read [/tag] tags is hidden from non-logged in users. For posts where some content is hidden with the tags, a message is placed in each post saying ‘This is only an excerpt of the post. To access the entire contents of this post, please login or click here to Register.’ |

I know I'll be viewed as biased (and to be fair, I am), but did I read that right ? You released a version that didn't check the IPN responses under certain conditions? Then acknowledged it in a public forum where people have admitted to using the software? If so, your probably want to fix that very very very quickly as you've inadvertently just given every script kiddy in the world a list of sites where they can easily fake a payment (and it really doesn't take much effort to fake the return from a payment gateway, that's why IPN style callbacks were invited). It's great that we have a new player in the membership plugin market and I genuinely wish you all the best (more competition forces us all to keep improving our own offerings to stay ahead), but I suspect you have a lot of work ahead of you to catch up with the 6 or 7 established membership plugins. Don't let that stop you though. WPMU Dev managed it, so I'm sure others can. |
