Hi Amy, Yes, it only works with Paypal at this point. However you should not that you can specify either one-time payment or recurring payments in the Administration page. I will be re-investing the proceeds from this WSO into developing extended capabilities including other payment methods, integration with clickbank and any other suggestions that are made. Every purchase will be eligible for free lifetime upgrades. Regards, Jane. |

Hi Jane, I'm working my way through the video, about 6 mins into the 27 mins - which so far is about setup procedure. Just wondering if you can provide a quick list of features, which would allow me to compare this with other wp membership plugins, and also clarify licensing rights (one site only or multiple sites)? Thanks for your help, - Kat Bartone |

Hi Folks, To answer some of the questions, one license will allow you to use this on all the sites you own. ZM - there is one level of membership, but you can use the default Wordpress settings to specify which level of membership this is. We'll look at adding, multiple levels of membership in the next release. List of features: - The ability to lock down all of your Wordpress content - The ability to charge a one-time or recurring monthly fees - Integration with Paypal IPN for Membeship activation - Integration with Wordpress Uer functionality - The ability to tag text as visible to allow snippets to be readable by non-members - Tha ability to customise your registration message, and payment page I hope this helps! Regards, Jane. |

Hi Frank, The sales site http://wpmembersite.com has a working version of the plugin. You'll see the payment page, and locked text and snippet text by clicking on the 2 links at the top. The video is working fine for me :S Try going to video.google.com and searching for "wp member site", that is where the video is hosted. Jane.

Jane , your offer sounds interesting. Is there any chance you can create a video that you can actually see? if you view it in the orginal size it is too small to see - if you enlarge the size then it is too blurry to see what is taking place in the demo setup. Can you set this up so you can charge per individual content instead of all content? For example , lets say I have a blog that I posts content on for all my readers. however, I also want to offer special reports for a monthly charge and I only want to block access to a particular page that contains these reports. Can this be done? Anyway , your product looks great from the benefits I see on the WSO. However, it would be even better if the video was somewhat better quality. Thanks, Jason |

I just bought it yesterday and set it up. Pretty darn happy with it except for 3 little things... #1 If you added a notify_url in the PayPal button people wouldn't have to change their IPN -- I changed this in my own version but I don't want future updates to erase that. #2 If it disabled accounts that shared passwords (i.e. 3 IP addresses over a 24 hour period on the same account) -- that would be a big help too. #3 Also Clickbank IPN, really easy to make it work, and it would be a big help because most membership sites have a 50% attrition rate, compounded every month... so affiliates would really help out with that. Oh yeah, and PDF instructions would be nice too. I like the video but it's small (then at fullscreen it's blurry and I can't read anything you're typing) |

HI Jason, The original video - you CAN see Once it is hosted on Google videos - they reduce the quality. YouTube won't upload the video due to the length. I can zip up the camtasia and send it to you if you are considering buying? Send me a PM.There is another plugin called rolls manager that will integrate to do what you want with individual bits of content. We'll be looking to integrate more closely with this in the next release. Jane. |

Hi Robert, Thanks heaps for all your suggestions. We'll look to implement ALL of them in the next release. Can you PM me the notify_url change you made (I am not familiar with this) and I'll pass it on to my developers. Number #2 is a very good idea. We have been racking our brains how to do this. Number #3 was already on the list ![]() A big THANKS! JAne.

#1: in member-cart.php, underneath this line: Quote:
Quote:
#2: First, you have to create a mysql table instead of storing everything in wordpress options. In the table, store the username, IP address (truncate the last segment, so 10.20.30.40 stores as 10.20.30, and a TIMESTAMP field -- automatically sets the date the row was added. Have one index covering the username and IP address fields, another for that timestamp field. Bind a function to the "wp_login" WordPress action. When someone logs in: 1. Delete all rows more than 24 hours old. 2. Add a row inserting the IP address and username using an INSERT IGNORE so it doesn't log the same IP address and username combo more than once. 3. Run a query against that table with a GROUP BY and HAVING COUNT(*) >= 3 4. If that query returns a row, lock the user out and send an e-mail to the admin... #3... good... can't wait... I need it badly.

Jane , thank you for the reply. Jane have you considered to add the feature of using password protection for bits of content instead of integrating with another plugin? Robert , with your expertise would this be difficult? This seems it would be more easy for the end user due to the fact you would only need to worry about one plugin in and not two intergrated together. Also , the less you would have to worry about security issues etc. Thanks, |

Jane , this also brings me to another question - what security meassures do you have in place now and in the works for the future versions. It sounds like Robert may have suggested some security issues with password sharing etc. Anything else you can share with us? My biggest concern is someone hacking the code to get access to my paypal account , or my customers information when they pay the monthly , or one time fee. Once again , any info that you can share will be appreciated. |

Hey Robert, Thanks You are a legend! Getting these actioned now!Jason - We'll be looking at implementing something along the lines of what Robert suggested to stop people sharing their passwords to the membership site. It is the same old problem software vedors have had to deal with since software was first created (registration key sharing and hacking). There is no way the code can be hacked to get to your Paypal account. As the plugin is never exposed to your Paypal password, there is nothing in the software to hack to get access to your Paypal account. I have heard instances of people hacking paypal buttons and lowering the price of the payment and then using the hacked button to order more cheaply. I am not 100% sure how they do this, and would assume that anybody using paypal as a payment system would be subject to the same vulnerabilities. In the instance this happened (and you would know straight away, as you would receive a payment of .o1 cent), you would just manually go into your Wordpress Admin panel and cancel their account. Jane. |

I bought this, but I am also struggling with following the video since I can't see it since its either small or blurry. If you could send me the camtasia to georgesepich(at)gmail.com that might help. I'm up to around 14:00 on the video and it starts talking about setting up the registration page on the "test page." I followed the audio OK up to this point. I created a wp "please pay for the content first" page with a one time paypal button showing. But the registration page is another separate page isn't it? I guess I need more specific step by step info on how to set up a registration page, like the message, and system message and exactly how to set it up. Also on the please pay for the content page is says: Pay a one time fee to become a member of this site. You will be charged $0.01 once only, and have life-time access to this site. Where can I edit the part about life-time access. I may want to do a one time payment for something like a one-year access. Thanks, George |

Ok, I found the registration page. Not sure if this was in the video or not or if I overlooked it.. In the wp admin settings you have to click "anyone can register" in the membership field wp-admin/options-general.php Membership Membership Anyone can register Users must be registered and logged in to comment After I did that and went to my domain with the url tag of /wp-login.php?action=register I was able to register and then pay and then got emailed my login info. It took me to the wp dashboard. Now I still need to find where to edit the "lifetime access" part, because that seems to be coded in their by default. Thanks, George |

Hi George, My apologies for the slight delay in getting back to you. I have been interstate for a few days! The wording for your membership site is can be changed by editing the plugin. You'll need to go into your wordpress admin panel, click on PLUGINS, then EDIT next to WP Member Site. Press CTRL and F to open a search box, and search for "Pay a one time" Change the text as required, then click "Update File". Regards, Jane. |

Thanks Jane. I plan on using your plug-in a lot. Even though I have several different scripts to run membership sites, I think for ease of use your WP plug-in will become quite valuable to me. The biggest thing though, that I currently see missing, is a way to hide the location of downloadable files that will be offered inside the site. Once a member logs in, most of IM'ers will not want the actual url of their downloads revealed, so that the link/location cannot be passed around. If I were to use this for example, my internetmarketinggrabbag membership site, I would have a couple of hundred of product links, but the download urls would all be visible in the current wp setup. Someone could just collect the download links and effectively give away my private paid membership site. Most of the scripts I have seen use some kind of hidden folder with something similar to a... go/downloadfolder/productname.zip type of alias, instead of blog/mydownloads/productname.zip It shows a virtual location and not the actual folder name or location. Another important part of this is to have it so members have to be logged in to the site before a download can take place. Then even if the above url is put in their browser, it will make then login before they can access the download. I know this feature would be important to many IM'ers and would make your plug-in even more valuable if its possible to add this in. I may be able to do the above by integrating wordpress with another of my membership scripts but it would be absolutely fantastic if you were able to make this part of a future update. Thanks again, George |

Hi Jane, I've been following along this thread, watching how the plugin seems to be developing. A few questions/ comments come to mind: 1. Have you integrated R. Plank's coding suggestions in the current release? 2. Re: the request for preventing people from sharing passwords etc - another plugin I've been looking into is the Your Members wordpress membership plugin. They charge a small extra fee for the add-on code that would offer this protection. Don't know how they do it but it seems that its 'doable'. Have you made progress with this issue yet? 3. The site that I'll be setting up will have some areas publically available, and some areas protected (protected content could be posts, pages, or download areas). Does your plugin offer the ability to selectively allow access to members-only? Or is it all or nothing? 4. The members-only areas of the site I'll be setting up will be based upon admin approval, not upon payment. Does your plugin provide me with this capability? 5. I notice that folks are asking a lot of support-type questions in this WSO. Once the WSO has expired, how will you be handling support requests? Thanks a lot! -Kat Bartone |

Hi Jane, I would like to know a couple of things. I want to use recurring billing and I know it is possible but, is it possible to have levels? I want to charge people on a monthly basis... Then they have access to new content every single month automatically and of course who is in month 1 can't access month 2 and so on... Is it possible? I know there are some wordpress plugins for setting up levels but I would like to know more about this point. Thanks, ^PV Reymond |

I could use this RIGHT NOW and would be happy to beta, if you need it. I'd need subscription, and affiliate system included. What about timed release options? I know that Nitty Gritty had it where you get 30 days of content, then if you paid for your 2nd month, you get the 30-60 day content, and so on.... Is that an option for your script too?

Jane, Looks great! I've been ready to jump in for a while. Add me to the list of folks waiting for answers to the list of enhancements you'll commit to in the next release and a date for that release. I also wonder what the plan is for supporting the plug-in? Will there be a support forum, or trouble ticket system, or what? Thanks. This will make a lot of people very happy I'm sure. Mark |

Ok Jane, thank you for your answer. Maybe you can consider it for later releases. Thanks, ^PV Reymond |

Jane, This may be a stupid question... But in the 'list of features' it says: "Ability to lock down ALL your wordpress content" Uh... will this lock down just ONE particular area or section of content, leaving the rest of the blog free to read? Deb |

Hi! Great Idea and Pretty Good Price! Two questions, 1, I would be very interested in providing the ability to have multiple pay levels. Let's say, I offer a 'become a member now and save $10 per month on your subscription" offer and for a limited time, I would charge $17 per month, but after a certain date, I go in and change the per month charge to $27, all my early adopters would also get dinged. Any way around that? Sorry for making it complex! 2. It mirrors the previous post. I would like to be able to lock down specified categories and I LOVE how it can lock down part of a post...Would be nice to have this automatically too. Allow all posts to be seen, but after let's say 100 words, the rest is not excessable unless you are a paying member. That would be very nifty! Or another idea, I offer video tutorials as well as text. Provide one video for non-paying members (shorten version) and full video to paying members in the same post...? 3. Finally, is it possible to have text on a post stating something like "To see the rest of the blah, blah, blah, you need to subscribe by clicking here!" and have that go away for logged in members? Thanks! PS, can I get a free license if I'm the biggest pain in the butt with this? |

Hi Deb, Yes, you can choose to leave some content 'unlocked' and lock the rest. When you create a post, there are some additional buttons that will allow you to tag the text you want to reveal to non-members. Regards, Jane. |

Hi fthomas137, Firstly, that is 3 questions ![]() Let me answer them one by one. 1. This is not possible as yet, but we are looking at ways to have multiple membership levels in a later release. 2. This does not happen automatically. You need to tag the text you want to reveal to non-members. The next version will allow you to reveal ALL your content and hide specific content for members only. Basically the opposite of how it works now, this will be a check box in the options page. 3. This is how it currently works. There is text telling non-members to register., Members don't see this. You can edit the plugin to change the text that displays. I'm not sure why being painful would qualify you for a free copy?! We are not giving away any free trials at the moment. However, the price is going to double once this is approved on Clickbank (any day now!) This is most likely the last time we will list this WSO. |
