Why?

Well to be honest, my original reason was because my main webserver was upgraded last week, and the database was migrated to a new system. This has caused a few script problems and bad links, so my sales are down and I wanted to boost them back up.

This morning though, I came across yet another copycat program and I have to say... it kinda ticked me off. Ever since releasing this software last year I've seen knock off after knock off.

Now, most of these programs are variations on mine, and I can certainly understand someone making something different if they need different functionality and I have no problem with that. I can also understand someone making a better program when the original sucks.

Problem: This one is still too good to be beat! I made it right the FIRST time! :D

So I've decided it's time to toot the ZipPoster horn a little louder!

ZipPoster Lets You Add HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of posts to your WordPress Blog At Once

AND it randomizes the publishing dates and times, so your site grows organically - as if a Human Were posting to it!

Now when I talk about random posting times, I'm NOT talking about a measly "every hour" or "every day" schedule. That's too predictable and predictable leaves FOOTPRINTS!

Let me walk you through the whole system step by step with screenshots...

FIRST: You install ZipPoster like you would any other WordPress plugin: UPload it to your WordPress plugin directory. Then go to the plugins section of your WordPress Admin and Activate it.

Oh yeah: ZipPoster Works on WordPress versions 2.6, 2.7 AND WPMU

Step 1: Select text files that will be published on your site

--- Anything which can be published normally in WordPress can be in your text files. So your text files can have images in them, hyperlinks, videos, and more. As long as your content is in text file format, you're good to go.

Super Profit Tip: You could even convert CSV affiliate datafeed files into text files and publish those via ZipPoster too! ;)

Step 2: Add your text files to a Zip archive.

--- I use a free software program called 7zip, select all the files for a given site, right click and choose Add to 7zip.


Step 3: Go To The ZipPoster Admin Screen:




This screen does all the work.

--- Note the "Entry" box: This allows you to load articles and content one at a time, and still use the random dating feature.

--- Most people love the ZIP file capability though, because it lets you load tons of content all at once. And as you can see in this screen shot, all you do is select your category, select your preferred publishing schedule (more details below), then click the BROWSE button. Select your zip file then click the DO IT button and ZipPoster does all the work :)

Your zip file is quickly extracted and all the posts are entered into WordPress for you, with random dates and times for publishing.

Now for the rest of the features on this screen:
--- At the top is the random date and time settings. You select the shortest and longest periods of time between publishing.

* The drop down box allows you to select MINUTES, HOURS, DAYS, and WEEKS - This means your publishing schedule is SUPER FLEXIBLE!

Examples: Set it to 15 minutes minimum and 3 days maximum. Or 5 days minimum and 2 weeks maximum. The combinations here are practically limitless!

And here's another cool thing to know... ZipPoster keeps track of your publishing schedule. So if you load up 100 articles, they are dated based on the date and time of the article before them!

Example: Let's say you publish 3 articles with your random publishing schedule set to a minimum of 1 day and a maximum of 5 days. Set your start time (see screen shot) to whatever you want it to be, including the past, then...

-- Your first article will have a random date and time that is 1-5 days from your start time.
-- Your second article will have a random date and time that is 1-5 days from your 1st article.
-- Your third article will have a random date and time that is 1-5 days from your 2nd article.

Now if that weren't cool enough, ZipPoster does this for EACH category! :)

Let's say you load up 100 articles in Category A, and you schedule them to be drip published over the next 3 months.

Then you get another batch of articles written for that same category next week. You want to tack these on to the END of when your existing queue is finished, so you just select the category on the ZipPoster screen and click the LAST button! :)

If instead you've decided your publishing schedule is spread too far apart for a category, and you want to fill in some blanks, then you simply click the NOW button and the new articles will be scattered into the existing publishing queue schedule.

Other Cool Behind The Scenes Features:
-- ZipPoster uses the first line of your text file for the Post title.
-- If you forget to put a title in a text file, ZipPoster will automatically use the first 10 words of the file.
-- If you accidentally have strange characters or funky formatting such as "smart quotes" and the other strange stuff generated by MS Word, ZipPoster will strip those out for you automatically. This means you will NOT find yourself with only partial posts or partial file loading!

Note: ZipPoster is designed to handle non ascii text junk charactors gracefully but it will NOT handle full MS Word files for you. If you try to load non text files you will either get a message from ZipPoster saying you're not using the correct format, or you will get WP posts which have long strings of really horrible ugly looking junk code in the title.

TERMS OF USE:
- You cannot use ZipPoster on free WordPress blogs like those found at WordPress.com. You need your own install on your own site so you can add plugins.
- You may use ZipPoster on as many sites and domains as you own.
- You may use ZipPoster on a PERSONAL install of WPMU. You may NOT use it on a WPMU install that provides access to third party users. Please note: Little to no technical support is available for WPMU installs because of the wide variations in configurations and setup for that software.

- You may NOT sell, give away, share or otherwise distribute this plugin to other people.
- You may NOT sell, give away, share or otherwise provide access to this plugin to third parties with one exception: If you have a VA or employee who loads content onto your site for you, then they're allowed to use your install on your site for your business purposes only.

- Site Flippers: You may use ZipPoster to load a site with content for flipping, but you MUST remove the plugin before selling and delivering the site to your buyers. You may also buy a license for them or have them buy their own license :)

Yep, anything that you can put into text files can be used with ZipPoster.

Don't misunderstand though: ZipPoster does NOT do conversions for you. That profit tip was an example of the many unspoken powerful ways this plugin can work for you

You could for example, find/buy/create your own CSV to Text file conversion tool and quickly change datafeeds into text files that are then posted and scheduled via ZipPoster. You could also create the text files manually of course, or create a macro on your desktop/laptop to do it for you.

Anything which can be converted into standard text files can be run through ZipPoster, so you can create really content rich, valuable and profitable sites with this tool

I bought Kathy's product last year. I've also purchased some of the 'copy cats' and 'wannabes' and I must say, Kathy's work the best. So, if you have a copy cat or thinking about getting one, I would get Kathy's first it's just no comparison to the others. It's very convienent, easy to upload into wordpress, easy to set up when having to upload your articles. Just a really nice program.

Hi, I faced some technical issues on this plugin as a lot of posts are miss scheduled and all the posts posted are in "no comments" state although I have the comments function enabled. I have already wrote a few emails to your sales/ support email address but you have not responded.. ??? Please respond, or is this the kind of service provided for your existing and old products when promotion creases and so there is literally no support at all?
And I have only uses this on ONE site, which is already causing me more time to manually re-edit the posts and re-scheduling the posts...

Will it take post user designated WordPress Post tags from a text file. i.e., Say in the format:

Meta data is handled by a different section of WP so no it can't be added to the post through Zip Poster.

Tags are also handled differently and I have a companion plugin called Post Tagger that handles those. It should be in the War Room as a free download here shortly.

Hi Bill, it's been verified up to wp 3.04. Haven't tried 3.1 yet but there aren't usually any drastic foundational changes in software within the same version series so it should be fine.

I've been a big fan of your blog for over a year now... Way back when I started reading your blog I got the ZipPoster plugin you recommended of your website...

As is usual... I waited until just recently to try it out (procrastination being a major internet marketer enemy).

The plugin worked just fine for about 2 weeks, and then suddenly gave me an error whenever I tried to use it:

"Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 60555264) (tried to allocate 5903741 bytes) in /home/myusername/public_html/mydomain.com/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 774"

My Details:
Wordpress version: 3.2.1.
Apache version: 2.2.19
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.1.52
Architecture: i686
Operating system: linux
Perl version: 5.8.8
Kernal version: 2.6.38.7
Shared Hosting with HostGator

I've tried a few things, and am totally happy with highly technical instructions..

Any ideas or help would be hugely appreciated Kathy! (big fan)

Didn't realize this was still here The above got answered in email but for any lurkers who are curious: that issue is easily fixed in the admin menu and is addressed in the manual. Just turn on low memory mode. Common with shared servers
