Getting the attention of offline business owners is essential if before
you can attempt to sell your web services to them. And that is why
I've focused the report on the #1 concern and topic of interest to
business owners at the moment: the recession. So use the recession

Hi Cali,

Thank you for your question.

The method you use to get the report into the
hands of offline business owners will depend
upon your choice of target market.

For example, I target one niche internationally
using mainly the Internet. Therefore in my case
I drive traffic to a lead capture page to get them
to sign-up for the report.

However a lot of people choose to focus on targeting
a local market. In this case there are many options:

- Send out the printed report to local business owners
- Give out the report to business owners at local
networking meetings (e.g. Chamber of Commerce, etc).
This can be sent as part of the follow-up afterwards.
- Give the report out during workshops/presentations
if you're already doing these as part of your marketing
efforts. In fact the report can be part of the presentation.
- Get local PR and include the offer of the report in the
resource box.

For those who are cold calling in person or over the phone
the report can be an excellent tool for effective follow-up.

These are just some examples.

I am running a 1 day seminar for offline business owners and I am putting together some type of packet for my sales team to use when they are out and getting people signed up.

How customized is this report to 1on1 consultations? Can it easily be adapted to be reworded for an offline seminar/workshop?

Thank you for your question stayfocused, and I'll do my best to answer
it here...

The overall aim of the report is to effectively sell offline business
owners on the tremendous benefits of buying web services.

In the case of this specific report, the objective is to get offline
business owners to call you to request a one-on-one consultation
to move them closer to the sale.

There's no reason why this report couldn't be tweaked so that
the call to action is that they contact you (or your team) to
request a place on your seminar. Then you can use your seminar
to move them one step closer to the sale.

This would involve just modifying the last page of the report which
has the strong call to action. So the call to action would change from
requesting a consultation to requesting a seat on your seminar.

Thanks for the reply. I am not worried about a refund because I am sure I will use the report in my business either way.

I am in the process of setting up my seminar so I wanted to make sure it is something I can tweak and use right away. I have a bad habit of buying everything there is about the offline niche and get distracted from what I am doing right now. Hence my username.......

Yes - every fact on how offline business owners can benefit from
online services is backed up with solid proof from external sources
such as Google, comScore, Ogilvy and Mather, etc.

I did this because some offline business owners can be a skeptical
bunch. They're looking for SOLID proof that online marketing works
and won't just listen to big mouth claims.

That's why I went to great lengths to get statements from credible
sources to back-up every claim and prove the case to even the
most skeptical business owner.

Many offline business owners are more cautious on spending money
in the recession so you really need to prove your claims beyond
reasonable doubt and lead them to conclude that they'd be crazy

I agree with you about the WSO testimonials too.

I prefer to use unsolicited testimonials because they carry more weight
and are more genuine than the normal variety.

I'd much prefer to have 10 solid, credible, unsolicited testimonials than
100 solicited testimonials.

All of the comments from kind Warriors within this thread have been
100% spontaneous and unprompted by me.

When you produce quality work, people can't help but tell others about
it - from their own volition.

P.S. An early mentor of mine taught me a very valuable lesson on
testimonials and here it is...

"Testimonials are assets for your business"

Testimonials are so powerful because people will be more likely to believe
what your customers say, rather than what you say as a seller.

Most of the time, you have to hunt your animals in their native habitat. If they are not internet types, then they think craigslist IS the internet and often theat's where you will catch their attention.
