To answer your questions -

1) From my experience with writing informative posts, success rate is about 70% on average. I consider this to be quite good though given the value of the PR you're getting.

2) Since you're making a reply to an already existing post (a page that already exists as opposed to creating a new one), that post will most likely already be crawled by Google. Therefore, there's no need to do any extra work =)

3) Something like this would require an enormous amount of extra effort. Maybe if we get enough subscribers one day I'll be able to pay for more things such as that and share the benefits among us, however it's not practical at this stage.

4) No, the forum would be based on the same Class D IP address, and the same domain, and therefore you won't get as much benefit.

The health niche can be a bit of a bugger to promote, you're quite right, the mods on those sorts of forums seem very overprotective with what products appear in signature links. I'm sure the package will help you out in achieving your desired rankings, just stick with it, and mix it up with some health related non forum links, and I have no doubt you'll be dominating your keywords =)

What about posting the same forum with different keywords? This shouldn't be any problem right? Since we are targeting new keywords instead of same keywords within the same domain, ip address that we are posting at

Hi Spark,

It all depends whether you're promoting the same site or not. If you're promoting different sites, then you can of course use the same forum, even under the same keywords, however targeting the same site but under different keywords won't reap you that much of a benefit. It will be slightly better than having the same anchor text (such as sitewide links) however the long term effect won't be as good as if you invested the time building up the links from different domains. This is due to what's called "link diversity" which is a very important factor in ranking equations.

The forums are a mix of every type of forum, they're only targeted to ensure they're DoFollow, High PR, and allow postable links.

Those rankings you shared: 3 months to rank for a competitive term. I've never heard of that being done. Most SEOs have decided that it's impossible (sandbox)!

Obviously the problem is with the high PR sites.... I just now went over the 20 highest PR forums on the Aug list and only 3 sites have allowed signature links to stick.

The outsourcer worker I am using is still making intelligent comments, however no joy.

I guess these higher PR sites have seen it all before, and are wise to it.

My guys have gotten to the PR6 sites yet, however I am guessing they will be a lot more leniant?

Hi,

What you describe is possible, but you will need to save the direct link to your profile and bookmark that page somewhere so that it is indexed by Google. The method will work if all the profile pages are indexed, however by default a profile page isn't likely to be indexed unless you build a link to it.

A method around this would be doing something such as creating a Squidoo lens (or any other page) with a list of all your profile links, and then building a couple of backlinks to the squidoo lens through social bookmarking and that way all of the profile links should be crawled via the squidoo lens. This may be a little spammy but it works.

Hi Adam,

This is unfortunately the way it can sometimes be with the higher PR forums. Also, your niche may determine whether some forums will accept the site as a signature link.

There's just really no telling whether a moderator will remove links from a signature or not unfortunately. All we can do is try our best to make the links stick.

Mark, probably your best place to outsource this type of work is at odesk.com. Besides that, if you go to the classified section of WF, there are two Warriors that offer virtual assistants, one charges $2.90 an hour and the other one charges $75 a week. They don't always have someone available, but it is probably worth the wait.

I'm in the process of setting up a site with a home page and multi-niche sub-domains, set up as follows in the example below.

Steve doesn't do the back linking, he is offering the list of sites. From what he has said, he charges $200 an hour for his SEO services, but I don't know that he is looking for any more clients. He has suggested that you hire someone from Odesk.com if you want to outsource it.

Thanks for your interest, to answer your questions -

1) If you find the high PR sites are removing your signature links then what I recommend is to create only a profile on these sites, with a link included in your profile, and then build a backlink to the profile so that it gets indexed. This way the link will be much less likely to be removed, although it will lack the on-page PR.

What you suggested is one way of doing it, however you will be losing a lot of PR and authority doing it that way.

2) I pay roughly 20-30 cents for standard posts, or roughly $2/$3 an hour for 10 posts/hour.

Hi Mark,

Each subdomain is equivelant to a brand new domain, so you should think of each as being separate. If you are marketing different niches under your subdomains, then you will need to build links to each one independently.

For example if you wanted to target archery, you'd build 500 forum links pointed to your archery subdomain, with anchor text related to archery. If you then wanted to target a separate niche, such as farming, then you'll need to build separate links pointing to the farming subdomain, with anchor text related to farming. You can use the same forums to target different subdomains (ie: 2 links on a post, one pointing to the archery subdomain, and the other pointing to the farming one), but ultimately I'd recommend setting up different domains for each niche you target.

The reasoning behind this is due to two things -

1) You'll establish a unique brand for each niche, and will be able to include keywords in the domain name related specifically to that niche

2) Whilst a penalty effecting one subdomain won't effect another subdomain, you are still putting all your eggs in one basket if anything were to ever happen to the domain itself.

If your aim is to have one single website that is designed to target many separate niches (such as about.com) then rather than setting up separate subdomains, I'd setup subfolders instead, so that it would look like - http:/ rsite.com/archery, http:/ rsite.com/farming etc. In this case, I'd still target the separate subfolders with your backlink building, depending upon the niche you're targeting at the time.

Just a note I'll make is that if your site isn't based on a specific topic, but is spammy across many different topics, Google may deindex it. If however it offers quality information about many different topics and niches, then you could build up some very broad authority, such as wikipedia, about.com, etc...

I read somewhere that Google doesn't like sub domains very much and gives more importance to directories ie;www.mydomain.com/directory or www.mydomain.com/Directory/SubDirectory

Ok, I see now what I misunderstood. I took the easy way though and I just outsourced it to someone who knows what they are doing and has been doing this kind of stuff for a while. I much prefer to hire people that know what they are doing than do it myself, if I possibly can afford to. That is the main reason I don't work on my own car.
