OK - If you know your way around php you can add whatever you want to the link to make them even more effective.

You can place whatever text on the 'backgrounds' via the config file. The tckers are also clickable so people can get back to your site to create their own.

I'm not kidding about how they go stupidly viral. Just a quick peek inside any of the forums and you'll see loads of these tickers.

They will get even more effective the more unique you make your backgrounds.

At least put an alt="..." on the image, so google has some text to chew on... Its a missed opportunity if not done.

I can think of at least 10 niches where such a ticker would be a no-brainer and would let your users help you strengthen the backlinks to your site

I think this is a great idea - I'd never heard of this method before.
I thought at first it was going to be one of those automatic forum joiners and posters but this builds genuine links with other people doing all the work for you!
And of course you get traffic as well as people have to goto your site to sign up.

OK - you set the script up on your domain (maybe as a folder off the root, or sub domain) and put some targetted traffic to it - people will come to your site creat 'tickers' for the forums they frequent.

It may also help to add some yourself, and that will create a viral effect with more people coming to your site to create their 'ticker.

So, every ticker that is created on your site will automatically create a backlink for your url so Google and other engines will notice your site.

Backlinks basically help with your position in Google.

Quite simply, a 'ticker' is a graphic that acts as a countdown timer to a personal event. There are thousands of forums out there where the users use tickers in their signatures to countdown to vacations, to birthdays, weddings, pregnancies and many, many more niches.

Check out the large forums - Here is a page where you'll see what I mean

They are VERY, VERY popular out there!

I would run the script from a folder off you blog and simply link to it. Personally, I would run all the tickers, but its quite easy to edit the main page to limit the choices.

Yes, its very easy to add backgrounds and sliders to the system. You can even vary the size of the backgrounds to suit your needs. In fact, its a great strategy to have new graphics as you will be seen to be unique.

As requested I have emailed you a couple of times on how to resolve your issue.

My first email requesteed a copy of your config file, my 2nd to let you know that I resolved this issue.

"You have installed into a /ticker folder, but you have configured the script to point to a /tickers folder.

A simple edit to remove the s in tickers, upload the config file and run install.php again - this will resolve this particular issue."
