The Atahualpa theme is rapidly becoming my favorite theme. I have been know to hack a few WP themes myself, but this lady can save you some time and even teach an "old dog" a few new tricks. Rosetrees Rock! If you want to customize a WP theme, Atahualpa is one of the best, and Rosetrees will show you how.

Rosetrees

Thanks for the tutorial it was definitely what I needed.

I download the Atahualpa theme because you can use it to customize
websites, sales pages, squeeze pages and blogs without having to
learn several different themes.

I was still struggling trying to learn different things and was wasting a lot of time
going to the support forum and searching online for help. It became time consuming and a frustrating process.

I seen the tutorial and it was a no brainer for me. I had to a least take the time to tell anyone that is thinking about getting it to "go for it" because the step by step tutorial is easy to follow.

Thanks Rosetrees this was a right on time for me.

P.S. I will finally have my site up in running tomorrow because of this tutorial

A couple of people have been redirected to a blank page after purchasing - yet most people seem to have been directed to the correct page. I've checked the Paypal link and seems (??) to be working ok.

If you get redirected to a blank page - just PM me with your receipt number and i'll PM you the link.

Carol
ps - I think I've found my daft mistake. Should be working ok now. I think I've PM'd everyone who has bought so far. If I've missed you out - just let me know.

Guys go and GET this WSO. I downloaded it, set up a test blog and wow is it ever step-by-step, clear and FUN! the videos are a great touch as well. Serious overdelivery on value and all for $9.00. Rosetree, you did make mention of a paint.net guide, but I can't seem to find it on your site, which by the way is well done.

I also have to say this tutorial is fantastic.

I'd been blogging on Typepad but was too scared of Wordpress to make the jump. I followed rosetrees tutorial step by step and even though I had never used Wordpress before, I set up my blog easily and replicated the design I had on Typepad. This is a great step by step guide.

Hello Carol:

I was searching for an SEO-friendly WordPress theme and found Atahualpa at WordPress › Atahualpa Free WordPress Themes
which offered a very limited description:
Version 3.4.4 - Build your own unique, professional and browser-safe WordPress Theme: 1-5 columns, fluid or fixed width, rotating header images and 2 dozen option pages. Support and tutorials at our forum.
The image looked like it could really work for me... so I started a Google search... Atahualpa wordpress theme (no quotes)... found your tutorial at #9... and then I conducted a search on WF for Atahualpa where I found your Beginner's Atahualpa Tutorial.

I'm excited with Atahualpa's potentiality in that it's flexible enough to adeptly accommodate websites, sales pages, squeeze pages and blogs!... and with your TUTORIAL... one can enjoy a vertical learning curve!!! Yippee!!! (LOL!!!)

I'm happy for the find and wonderful price ($12)... and look forward to commenting about the tutorial itself.

Much thanks!

Alan

Question-1: Do you personally recommend installing WordPress using Fantastico or prefer the standard install? (I've had some professional IM friends recommend not using Fantastico.)

Carol,

Thank you so much for introducing me to the Atahualpa theme, I've been ignoring it
for a long time. Had I read your very well written ebook, even 3 days sooner, I would
have saved a days work tweaking a theme to almost look like I wanted it to. Even
down to playing with the php, just to make one column wider, another narrower. I
still wasn't happy with it. 30 minutes with your ebook, and the Atahualpa theme,
and I cracked it. This will be my theme of choice from now on.

FYI: The link in your book to show you the finished result goes to a non existent page.

I give you three thumbs up! I'd give you four thumbs up, but I've run out or hands.

I've already had Atahualpa recommended, but by someone who flies at a FAR higher altitude than me. I worked hard and "kept up in class", but the others didn't, so I suspect there is a lot more to learn! Will lap up this tutorial with delight - thanks for offering it.

Hi Carol

Based on the considerable capabilities of Atahualpa and all the positive comments you've received for your tutorial, I'm really interested in buying a copy from you. I really need to fast-track up the learning curve.

Can you tell me to what extent is the latest version of your course applicable to the latest update (3.6.7) of this theme?

@ mKaneThere aren't many changes that affect the tutorial. The main one is that you can now install the theme directly from the Wordpress respository, whereas before you had to download and ftp it.

Some of the advanced options for editing the centre column now have to be done in the theme editor rather than the theme options, but I don't think any of those are in the tutorial.

You've just given me a kick in the right direction though, as the tutorial is due for an update.

Will you automatically send the updated version to all new buyers when it's ready or do we each need to request it?

Thanks

@canuckwarrior - I will try and send it to anyone who has purchased in the last 6 months - although anyone who purchased earlier is welcome to ask.

I'm laid up in bed ill at the moment - so progress is slow. I have ME (I think it's called CFS in the US). Anyway - I'm having a mega relapse - so there will probably be a delay. I should look on it as an opportunity to get it completed without too many distractions, I guess.

Sorry to hear about your CFS. Can't imagine you getting much work done though, my friend had that and spent most of their time sleeping and walking around in a daze.

Good news is that their symptoms eventually passed using some sort of strict diet and a drastic lifestyle change to lower stress, etc.

*** EDIT ***

Just wanted to let you know that I found your report very helpful even without your latest update. It saved me a ton of time playing with settings trying to figure out things on my own and given me a whole bunch of new ideas. Your teaching style is clear and easy to follow, great job.

P.S. Get well soon.

Hi Rosetrees,

I hope you're feeling better by now.

I just remembered that I have Atahualpa and had bought your tutorial, and since I just came across your post and reference of it and I need to start building some fancier looking websites, I'd love to have the updated copy of your tutorial too.

Thanks so much. I'll send you a PM too...

Elisabeth
