[Updated for 2014!] Fiverr Gig Flipping! How to buy Fiverr Gigs & resell them for up to 10x more!
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Fiverr Gig Flipping!
Would it make a difference if you could buy a gig for $5 and flip it (instantly sell it on) for between 2 and 10 times the amount you paid?
If so, how many times a week could you do that?

Fiverr gets a lot of attention - good and bad.

But there are some things where Fiverr wins hands down.

If you knew some of my secret sources on Fiverr, could you make use of them?

  • Would you be able to afford some things you previously thought were cool but too expensive?
  • Would you be able to do some Fiverr flipping where you bought a gig for a handful of dollars and sold it online (maybe even here on the Warrior Forum) for quite a bit more? Maybe double what you paid or maybe up to 10 times what you paid?
  • Would you be able to leverage your Fiverr flipping even more and sell it to offline clients for an even bigger markup?
Check out these reviews:

I'm going to expose 5 different gigs - in 5 different areas - that I've personally used on Fiverr to pay just cents on the dollar.

================================

Update for 2014

At the time of writing, four of these gigs are still live on Fiverr. I'll give you the link to each of them. And the fact that almost all the gigs are still available a year after I first wrote this PDF says a lot.

The first gig is on pause - that could just mean too many orders at the moment - but I've linked to similar gigs that are offering the same service.

And the seller of the bonus gig has left Fiverr but in the update I've linked to hundreds of similar gigs.

================================

But - in case they disappear from view or get swamped with business as a result of this WSO - I'll also give you the title to the gig and their description so you know what to look for.

Because there's plenty of choice for these gigs on Fiverr once you know what to look for...

I show you in detail each of these gigs.

I can't tell you here precisely what these gigs offer as you'd likely go off and search for them yourself. I know that's a bit mean of me but I'm only charging $5 for this WSO so I hope you'll understand.

Gig 1

This is a service gig.

I paid $45 on Fiverr and used someone in Australia to do the work for me.

She suggested an upsell that I didn't take her up on. If I had done, it would have cost me an extra $25.

If I'd been selling this service on, I'd have charged it out at probably $120 for the base gig and another $120 for the upsell.

How do I know that $120 price?

I was chatting with another Warrior.

Let's call him Mr R to keep him anonymous and save his blushes.

When I told him about this gig and what I'd paid and his jaw dropped.

He'd just had the exact same service done in the USA for what he thought was a bargain price of $120.

So I know I could have made a cool $75 selling him this gig.

It took me maybe 10 minutes total to deal with the Fiverr lady.

And I could set this gig up as a Warrior for Hire deal, undercut the market (I'd charge $99 as a Warrior rate) and everyone would think they were getting the bargain of a lifetime.

Oh, and I'd add in the upsell at another $99. Giving me a potential profit of $128 profit for 10 minutes of my time.

I'll show you the complete conversation I had with the coder and a sample from the work I got back so you can judge the quality for yourself.

This information alone is worth the price of this WSO.

Gig 2

If you were one of the people who bought my niche case study, you'll have already seen this gig.

But it's too good to leave there and I didn't explore the full possibilities of selling it on as that wasn't the purpose of the case study.

There are similar gigs to this on Fiverr but this goes the extra mile and includes what I'd normally expect to be an add-on or an extra gig in the basic price.

So it's like getting two gigs for the price of one.

It's the kind of thing you or I would spend an hour doing. Getting either bored or distracted or both.

And then another hour on the extra part. In fact, I know I spent closer to 3 hours doing this before I discovered this Fiverr gig.

And I've done - and charged out - an hour for an offline client for the work in the first part of the gig. More than once.

I'm in the UK and it was work I did for someone else in the SEO industry as a subcontractor. So I charged them a "trade" price of £50, which is roughly $80.

So I could have made $75 profit if I'd used this gig. Just for passing on the instructions my client gave me and then handing them back the completed work.

I've not searched for this type of gig in Warriors for Hire but I'm sure there would be demand for it at a lot higher than $5. Anywhere from $30 to $50 would be a bargain in my view.

Which means that even if you only use the information from this one gig once, you've got your money back from this report.

You'll get to see the complete work I got back so you can judge the quality for yourself.

Gig 3

This is another one where you could do some flipping between the Warriors for Hire section and Fiverr.

And from the research I did, my best guess is that some "in the know" Warriors already are!

This gig uses software. But not the press-a-button and spam everyone to death software that so often taints Fiverr gigs.

If you think you'd like to offer this on a regular basis, I even tell you the software that's being used and where to get it.

But, to be honest, if I was offering it, I'd just pay the $5 and sell it on.

I found two Warriors for Hire offering this exact service. There are probably more.

The first one was charging $99 for the exact same thing I got on Fiverr for $5.

The other one I found was charging $35 plus another $20 for a gig you could easily pick up on Fiverr for $5 (I don't show you where to get the add-on gig as I've not used it personally but it wouldn't take long to find it yourself).

And they weren't doing themselves any favours as they didn't have a sample for you to download.

So if you matched the lower price, you'd make between $30 and $45 for maybe two minutes of your time.

And if you sold this gig to an offline client, you'd probably be charging them $99 or more, just for the basic gig. Then another $99 for the add-on.

And they'd be delighted because they'd got the bargain of a lifetime.

Because in the offline world, no-one really knows about Fiverr or the Warrior Forum. So they pay retail prices, not the trade price we're used to.

I'll show you a sample of the work I had done so you can judge for yourself.

Gig 4

This one is a bit more specialist.

Which of course means your mark-up could be even higher.

If you've ever heard the story of a boiler repair guy who turned up to fix a broken boiler, tapped it with a hammer and then charged $1,000 then you'll know the potential of this one. The shocked boiler owner asked the repair guy how he could justify such a large bill for such a small amount of work.

The itemised bill the boiler repair guy was written like this:

For tapping with hammer: $0.50
For knowing where to tap: $999.50
Total: $1,000.00

You'll be doing much the same once you know this gig exists.

The freelance sites are in major panic mode about it.

Before they got bought out, vWorker did a survey asking their buyers whether or not they used Fiverr. To which, of course, the answer would have been a resounding "yes".

$5 bids on freelance sites are unheard of.

Figure that if it's less than $50 or $100, you've got a bargain.

I found this gig for a client so can't give you precise details of the work done. But I do tell you what I asked for and how little it cost.

Before I bought, I asked them how many gigs it would cost.

And I was shocked when they came back to me and said it would be 1 gig. A whole $5.

If I'd used oDesk or Elance or PeoplePerHour of any of the other coding sites, I'd have got bids back for about $100. Maybe $95 if they desperately wanted the business.

And I'd have been happy. So would my client.

Instead, for a measly $5, I got the job done quicker than it would have taken me to post the bid on a freelance site and sift through all the bids I got back.

So this is another flipping opportunity.

Online or offline.

You don't need to be the expert.

You just need to know where to find the experts for $5 and put your margin on top.

Gig 5

I'll be honest, this one is a bit more common knowledge on Fiverr.

But not much and I was fully expecting to be charged an extra gig or more for what I asked for.

Not because it was difficult.

Just because this industry routinely does that kind of thing.

Again, before Fiverr existed, I'd have used a freelance site and been happy to pay anywhere from $50 to the cheap Eastern European guy I'd dealt with before to $100 if I'd put it to open auction.

And I'd still have saved $100 to $150 versus getting it done locally here in the UK.

So this is another flipping opportunity.

Charge it here on Warriors for Hire at the $50, Eastern European rate and you'd have Warriors queueing up to work with you.

Charge it out at $50 as a "trade" price to local people who re-sell this kind of thing.

Or charge it out at a "retail" price for $100 or more.

Again, I'll show you the conversation I had with the Fiverr coder and I'll show you the completed item I got back.

In this case, I'll even let you use the item I got back yourself if you want to. If you do any work in SEO for online or offline clients, you'll likely want this.

So you'll have got back the price of this WSO by not having to buy this gig.

And that's before you set yourself up reselling it!

Gig 6

I know, I only said 5 at the start.

But I couldn't resist this one.

I used it as a personalised birthday present for a friend who I never know what to buy them.

It's a fun gig.

But you could easily re-sell it.

Personalised gifts typically cost a lot more than $5.

Especially ones that are completely personalised, start to finish. Not just a couple of things changed with "search - replace" (and, no, this isn't a Word document or personalised story).

This gig took a while to complete. 14 days is the estimated time. But for a personalised product, that's a normal kind of wait.

And it was well worth the wait.

The reaction I got from a $5 gift - even when I told my friend how little it had cost - was fantastic.

Because I'd thought about the gift rather than given them an Amazon voucher or whatever.

The choice is yours

You can go off to Fiverr and do the research yourself.

Or you can get the research work done for you for a low WSO price.

Click the buy button now if you'd like to get the PDF with all the gigs, a full explanation of what I asked for, and downloads for all the work I had done (except gig 4 where I'm bound by client confidentiality).

And I'm even going to offer a 30 day guarantee. I wasn't sure whether or not I should do that as I can't take the knowledge back out of your head if you go for the guarantee. But I thought I'd offer it anyway.

So there's absolutely no risk involved.

Just $5 to save $75 like Mr R would have done.

And there's no OTOs or upsells. This is complete.

Or whatever you save by swapping your current outsourcers to Fiverr.

Or whatever you make doing Fiverr flipping, buying low, selling high.

So click the buy button now!

FAQ

Is this still valid in 2014?

Yes!

The first gig is currently paused but there are many more near enough identical gigs to choose from and you can use the same approach I used to make sure you get good results.

The other 4 gigs are still available from the original sellers - not something you can say for many Fiverr gigs a year on.

The bonus gig has disappeared but there are many similar gigs to choose from.

You get a PDF with links to each of the gigs, copies of the conversations I had with the coders and links to copies of the work I had done.

So I've done all the research and actually checked what I got back.

Thanks for that - I think it makes a change from all the negativity that seems to surround Fiverr.

To my mind, these really are hidden gems and worth much more than the regular $5.

I mentioned Gig 2 to him and he said just half of it would take him over an hour on a good day, assuming he didn't run out of patience first.

No OTOs or upsells.

Just the information I promise in the WSO itself.

For what it's worth, I bought Trevor's WSO, and I have to say he delivers on exactly as he says that he will.
All 5 of the Gigs are still there (and I really doubt that they'll be going away anytime soon since they will benefit from this attention). Also, he doesn't direct you to any 'fly-by-night' sellers. They are all established, and based on the amount of sales they've done for their particular Gigs they must feel fine for delivering them for $5 because they continue to do it.

These are my general use and feelings about each one of these (it won't probably mean much other than do I feel I could use them):

Gig 1: Actually shocked she does this for so cheap. I've done this exact thing using oDesk and the quality wasn't close to being this good. Costwise, Trevor paid $45, says it's worth $120. I would have to agree. Mine I had done wasn't as good of quality as his, and I had to go in and make a lot of corrections/repairs.

Gig 2: I'm sure it's good from what he shows. May or may not use this. That's just me though.

Gig 3: Very, very Cool. This one is well worth buying this for this one alone. These are hot right now and I have priced them out. Unbelievable value. I will be doing this this week. (That's all I can say.)

Gig 4: Fantastic! Now this one (as he says) is more specialty. But I will use the exact same Gig issue that he did. I already tested the need for this for three of my Sites and I can definitely have this done. Another one I just can't figure out how they can do this for $5, but you can immediately see/know/find out the results as to whether or not they completed the task. Very cool.

Gig 5: Very Cool as well. Don't have a use right now, but I know I will probably within the next 90 days. (How can they do this for so cheap? This stuff takes time (at least for me it does).

Gig 6: Clever. I can definitely see the fun in this. Very specialty, but shows the creativeness that some have out there.

Trevor (I don't know you, so nice to meet you), you can definitely keep my money (no refunds to me).
Clever WSO, more importantly, usable WSO.
Very nicely done!

Hi Trevor,

Are these gigs something I would be likely to use myself for IM - I wouldn't be likely to re-sell them, but it would be worth five bucks to learn of tried and tested Fiverr gigs...

Thanks,

Mary

Gig 1: I've not used myself in IM but potentially you could. So let's call that a "maybe".

Gig 2: I've used myself in IM. Saved me about 2 hours of getting bored.

Gig 3: I've used more than once in IM. Quality is an order of magnitude better than I could create.

Gig 4: no. Not something you'd use directly in your IM business.

Gig 5: the example I used it for, no. But the same coder does anything you want in that market so let's call it a "maybe" as well.

Gig 6: no, probably not unless you could think of a use to make it go viral.

Not specifically. But let them bubble around your imagination and I'm sure you'll come up with some ideas.

Quite a few could easily be sold in the Warriors for Hire section of this forum. Not investigated but I suspect that could be happening already.

Some could be sold to offline clients if you've got them.

Or you could approach local businesses in, say, web design or other niches where they already have clients and offer yourself as a trade price supplier.

Paypal have glitches occasionally - it's one of the joys of computers.

That's because there's nothing I've found that I'd trust on SEO - the backlink gigs, etc I wouldn't recommend.

That said, some of the items can still be used for SEO: gig 2 gives you research for SEO purposes, gig 3 could be used to get backlinks.

O h yes, some really nice and worthful gigs here - that I can add to my ''arbitrage- tool-kit''...

The toughest part is to find customers, people who trust you on short notice .. maybe you have a good guide on that Trevor?

I'd go with being a Warrior for Hire - you've already got a decent number of posts so that will help confidence in you.

Easy missed - hiding in plain sight is often the best way.

And just goes to show that not everyone reads (or remembers) sales letters!

Yes, these are all still usable.

One of the gigs is paused but there are lots of similar ones available.

A couple of the others have changed gig ID - will get the PDF updated.

And the bonus gig seller seems to have left Fiverr but, again, there are lots of similar ones available.

Will this get saturated if everybody starts to post on Warriors for Hire section? Do you show us where and how to do marketing for the gig posted?

I'd be surprised if it got even close to saturated - not everyone follows through on everything they buy and not everyone is likely to post on Warriors for Hire. For instance, I know quite a few people who bought it when it was first released just used it as quick research.

I don't go into the marketing side of things in this WSO, sorry.

In no particular order, there's:

  • Warriors for Hire & equivalents on other sites
  • Your own website, promoted with forum marketing, YouTube, articles, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc
  • Local networking events
  • Local fliers/SMS text marketing/giving leaflets out to businesses
  • etc

That hits the nail right on the head.

It may be possible to make $75 in profit from buying and reselling a gig, but what is going to be left as actual net profit once you have deducted the expense of finding buyers?

Warriors for Hire is one way you can reach people for a relatively low advertising expense, but don't Warriors already know about Fiverr? Wouldn't somebody just put the name of the service they need into the Fiverr search box and find the gig anyway?

Can these gigs be offered as add-on services to offline buyers of other services, such as SEO, web design etc.? That is where this product either succeeds or fails – how easy is it to find buyers?

Assuming that you can find buyers, is there any potential for repeat business? Some gigs cover services a business owner is only likely to need once (like having a logo designed), while others are for services they could want again and again (like backlink building – assuming you could find a decent service). It wouldn't matter if you had to spend $75 in advertising to get one client, making absolutely no profit on the initial sale, if the customer was likely to return for further orders on which you will have incurred no advertising expense.

It sounds promising for “half a WSO”, but we need more information on the other half before considering buying.

Hi Andrew

It's up to you what you do with the gigs - you're not limited to just selling on Warriors for Hire.

Of course there's a customer acquisition cost but there is with any method.

And, yes, Warriors know about Fiverr but not everyone buys from there.

I've not used Craigslist but I'm sure there's potential on that site.

Attending a local networking meeting you'd find potential customers, most of whom will never have encountered Fiverr.

Plus lots of other ways as well. Because what suits me may not suit you and vice versa.

Some gigs are one off, others could lead to more business. The same as any business.

Trevor

Hi Trevor,

I'm still interested in this.

Originally Posted by trevord92 View Post

Could you please elaborate on this? If four gigs are still live, exactly how many of them could be sold to offline businesses? Also, could the paused first gig, or its equivalents which are not paused, be used in this way?

I see from post #14 that you say a buyer could sell through local web design companies. I take it that means that if you already offer web design as one of your services, you'd be in a position to add at least one of these on as an upsell?

The most important question is this – do these gigs actually satisfy a 'pain point' for an offline business? Are business owners likely to read your email and think “Wow! This has come at just the right time. We're losing out by not having this, we'd better get it.”? Or are they just “niceties” like having a pretty website and a “promotional” video no-one watches? I know it is untested, and I can put up with that at a single-figure price point, but, if I sent out 100 emails a day to businesses, am I likely to see anything by way of conversions?

Finally, are these gigs which could be marketed to just about any business, or are you looking for specific situations (such as businesses with videos which don't rank anywhere and are therefore never seen)?

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

There are plenty of alternatives to the closed gig and, yes, it could be sold offline.

Yes, you'd be able to offer at least one as an upsell with web design (and you'd probably find other gigs that you could also mark up nicely in related areas).

One of the gigs isn't particularly a pain point - it's a bit more specialist. But I know people locally who've bought a similar service so it's not impossible.

Another is definitely a pain point but might take a bit of searching to find sites with enough pain.

Email responses depend on so many factors it's difficult to give a precise answer. If you word them like all the ones that get automatically filtered to spam then you're unlikely to get response. If you choose your subject lines and the rest of your email (and also your name/return address) carefully then you'll get a different response. Sorry that's vague but there are way too many variables to be anything else.

No, no need to be sorry, that's a very helpful reply. Honest, as well. There are a lot of sellers on here who would say something like -

“Hey! Dude! These gigs are so smokin' hot that ya just gotta send a couple emails to mom and pop stores, they'll buy 'em, tell 100 of their friends each and you'll have $10,000 in the bank by the end of the day! Don't forget the OTOs are going up in price with every sale, so by the time ya finish readin' this, you'll need the $10,000 to be able to grab 'em!”

In the end, the only way to see if these convert is to test them and see. I'll pick this up early next week, start a Warriors for Hire thread and do some offline prospecting. Depending on what these are, I may be able to combine them with what I'm already offering.
