Hi Louis,

Thanks for your response yesterday - that was a huge help.

I do have something else i would like to ask: Is it necessary to have meta login set up so that people can actually log into and/or register on my site? And, do you recommend comments being turned on? If so, for what purpose? Does it have anything to do with reviews?

I have had problems in the past with hacks/email hacks through wordpress when allowing this type of access. Don't want to deal with it again.....ya know?

Thanks again -
Michael P.

Prosociate can't directly import to those fields.

But we're probably going to add the ability for Prosociate to import to those fields directly in a release shortly after 1.0.

No, you don't need to allow users to login or register.

If you leave comments enabled it means visitors to your site can leave their own reviews.

Enabling the WordPress login and comments feature will not cause your website to be hacked. WordPress powers 20% of the web, so obviously just enabling those features won't make your website vulnerable.

Great - thanks very much....I will explore the comments option, as I do want people to leave reviews whenever possible.

I gotta say - I am really blown away by this plugin, and the sophistication of it. You guys have done one fantastic job on this. I HIGHLY recommend anyone sitting on the fence to get this now.......don't miss out!!!

Since the products created in a campaign are separate from actual posts, I see that the RSS feed for the site itself does not automatically pick up these products as pages or posts. Is there a way to modify anything so that the RSS feed for the site does pick up product?

Thanks,
Michael

Just add this to the end of your website URL: /shop/feed/ and it will show the products in an rss feed.

Try adding "?post_type=product" to the end of your feed URL.

Bought Prosociate 4 days ago and can't get it to work it simply won't save data/login to Amazon. Have been in contact with support but they haven't been able to offer a solution.

I've tested it on 2 brand new live sites and my Xamp Localhost all of them give me the error message "Prosociate was not able to connect to Amazon with the specified AWS Key Pair and Associate ID. Please triple-check your AWS Keys and Associate ID."

The AWS key pair are correct and tested in Amazon scratch pad.

However if I delete my AWS access key and AWS secret key then save I get "Prosociate was able to connect to Amazon with the specified AWS Key Pair and Associate ID."

I've literally spent days trying to get this to work has anyone else had this problem and can anyone give some advice.?

Try disabling WP Super Cache plugin if you are using it. My experience is it seems to interfere with some other plugins and settings.

Thanks John but I'm not using WP Super Cache and to make sure it wasn't a plugin conflict I've tested it on a new installation of WP with no plugins. I can't get it to work on a live site or my Xamp localhost.

This really seems like a great plugin. Have 2 questions. Can we sell a site with the plugin and can we disable reviews (Amazon doesn't allow product reviews on affiliate sites).

Thanks!

We finally figured this one out.

It turns out your server time setting is wrong, by about 15 minutes.

All requests sent to Amazon must be "signed" with the time.

This is causing the request to be "signed" with the wrong time and therefore rejected by Amazon.

We uploaded a temporary fix to your site that offsets the time Prosociate sends to Amazon by 15 minutes. I posted two products to your site.

I also e-mailed you a screenshot showing the time on my computer to be xx:11 and the time on your server to be xx:55.

I apologize for the trouble.

>> Amazon doesn't allow product reviews on affiliate sites

I was not aware of this - can you point me to where I learn more about this? If I have to take the IFrame reviews feature out of Prosociate I will. But this is something almost every single Amazon plugin does.

You can disable visitors to your site from leaving their comments/reviews.

You can't sell a site with the plugin. You have to remove the plugin first and the buyer has to get their own license.

We are going to offer a developer license once we release 1.0. You will be able to upgrade to the developer license for the difference between today's price and the price of the developer license.

Louis,
I went and searched through Amazon's TOS. It's rather complicated, but here's what I found...

https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...participation/

8. You will not add to, delete from, or otherwise alter any Content in any way, including by adding additional information (e.g., you may not insert words into a customer review), except that you may resize Content consisting of a graphic image in a manner that maintains the original proportions of the image or truncate Content consisting of text in a manner that does not materially alter the meaning of the text or cause the text to become factually incorrect or misleading.

24. You will not include any Special Links in any content that you place on the Amazon Site (for example, in connection with any advertising service available through the Amazon Site or in a customer review, forum, listmania, guide, or any other customer-generated context available on the Amazon Site).

28. You will not display or otherwise use any of our customer reviews or star ratings, in part or in whole, on your site unless you have obtained a link to that customer review or star rating through the Product Advertising API and you comply with the requirements set forth in the License Agreement.

So you can have reviews if you go through 'all the hoops'. Sorry for the misunderstanding. After going through the TOS a while back somehow I felt Amazon didn't allow reviews, so I didn't put them on my sites.

Regards,
Jenny

Wanted to publicly thank Louis and Michael for correcting the issues I was having.

The problems were caused by my server clock being 15 min behind which meant Amazon wasn’t accepting the request because it has to be signed with the correct time.

Thanks guys for sorting this out!!

I do not have the same hierarchy of product on my site as Amazon. For instance, my menu is category A, -sub A,- sub B. Amazons main category may be CategoryA, category B, sub B sub A. Yeah, well, that's not clear. I guess what I mean is does my site have to have the same category menu order as Amazon in order to post products.

Regarding above about menu order. Never mind. This plugin is freakin awesome. Not an issue. I cant think of anything else it should do. Still checking it out, but have 20 new products on my new site. Product pages nicer than anything I've ever done. Louis et al - thank you thank you. Sign me up for developer license. --- john

Hello folks,

I am using the free Mystile theme and I believe I may have set up a function that I shouldn't have. I believe it was something like Woocommerce Pages 2.0, it added some pages to my website and now when I click on the products it tells me "Error 404 page not found". Can someone help?

thanks,

Xio1

I have contacted Louis but I want to resolve this asap.

Louis,

I have been working with the plugin now for a few days - very impressive stuff. I am trying to get my learning curve out of the way before going on to build more sites. A couple of things have come up that I need to get some clarification on:

1. SEO - I am using All In One SEO for the site. How well does this integrate with the pages and product pages that are created with the plugin and woocommerce? Any specific things that need to be set in All in One to make it work optimally?

2. Regarding the indexing - I am using %postname% as my method of naming my URL's in WP. This does appear to be getting applied to individual product pages, but not so when pages index a certain way - here is an example:

Awesome Cell Phone Deals | Shop Amazon Direct Today! - Part 4

cellphonedeals.prodigitalatl.com/page/4/‎

This particular search result is taking me to the SHOP page and showing product, so I am not really sure where this title and page naming is coming from - any ideas?

3. Using content such as articles, videos, etc, on the site along with the store: Is it better to use content on the site, or not? If so, is it better to list articles, etc on the home page so that it's not so static? I want to make sure I am generating consistent bot hits for Google, MSN, etc.

4. I know you have indicated before that CRON is running automatically in the background and does not have to be set up in CPANEL. I guess my question is - how do we know changes are being captured and applied from Amazon? How often does the CRON job run?

Thanks in advance!

Hello All - 3 things I need assistance on - maybe someone else has run into this. Or, maybe something that can be upgraded.
Blog page - I just get 404 message. url is domain/blog/. pretty sure I set this up right. any settings I'm missing?
Featured Items - Had four yesterday, only 2 today. Is it possible that when cron runs to update product, if there are changes, we lose the "star" setting in woo commerce? That is the only thing I can figure.
Product Categories on plugin - drop down has category listing and each has sub-cats that open up. These must be from Amazon. They all seem to work except 'Grocery'. Amazon's menu is 'Grocery and Gourmet Food'. Naturally, that is one I use. Perhaps that could be updated on plugin.
Regardless, I'm getting a lot accomplished and could be going live in a few days.
Going out now to powerwash the drive!

OK - had all my products getting a 404 page. changed permalink settings to common -default and products - default. Not sure what sets these - my theme or plugin or what - but this has helped.

1. The next release of Prosociate will auto-fill the All In One SEO and Yoast SEO fields so you won't have to. But the real power of these plugins comes from their sitemaps and other features, not their ability to set your meta description, which has very little affect on rankings.

2. If it is different than your WordPress settings probably an SEO plugin you have active is doing it. But I'm not sure.

3. Some people have mentioned getting first page rankings quickly without any unique content. But content is good. More content is better. Google loves content.

4. It runs continuously. In our next update we're going to be providing a way to see when the data was last updated.

Featured items: yes, that's probably exactly what's happening. We'll fix this in 1.0.

Categories: we're currently overhauling the category search feature and the new one is going to include Grocery & Gourmet Food.

Louis,

I have been playing with plugin and wordpress itself and I deleted wp and reinstalled on my site and I know that I saw a 0.9.6 version and now it is not showing. Is there anyway that the download to the new version can be sent to us, or a download page or something?

thanks,

Xio1

Update: Louis, I was able to figure it out, the 0.9.4 version was giving me trouble with setting up menus, the 0.9.6 solves that issue. I still think it would be easier if we could download it somehow, the new version did not show when I was in plugins. I finally went to updates, I believe, and it allowed me to do it, it was a little confusing.

Hi -

Got a question regarding items for sale: I have noticed differences in price between the product I am showing on my site, and the amazon site. In one particular case, it was because Amazon was showing the regular price, and then a sale price.

When I go into the actual product on my end, I see that the sale price is on the product, but is not being shown. I see when I go into the product for editing purposes that there is a "schedule" field next to the sale price. Clicking this then advises me to add dates for the schedule.

My question is, why doesn't the sale price show automatically, if that is what Amazon is showing? That is what the user is going to end up seeing in their cart anyway when the check out.

And, if I do have to do the "schedule" option to get the price to show - how long do I schedule the sale for? I have no idea how long Amazon will show that price, correct? So, I have really no idea how long to schedule the sale price to show....

Hope that makes sense....

Thanks,
Michael

Hello Gents - looking for some advice.

I spent a lot of time getting product loaded (I know better search is coming) and I'm using the Bazaar theme per recommendation. However, before I kick off SEO and advertising, I want to make sure I have everything set up properly.

I have never used the Bazaar theme before and it appears there is A LOT of customization possible. So, with Prosociate, WooCommerce and Bazaar what tweaks do you recommend? In other words, I would like to minimize the amount of customization and set up time. Once I get this first site rolling, I have another 12+ sites that I want to crank up.

If anyone has suggestions on specific steps... E.g.:

Step 1: upload Prosociate
Step 2: install WooCommerce
Step 3: install theme (I'm using bazaar... Any other suggestions?)
Step 4-6 make the following tweaks to Bazaar
Step 7: Launch!

Thanks in advance for any advice / suggestions.

We're going to provide a better way to download updates when we release 1.0. You aren't the only one who has reported difficulty with the auto-update feature in the WP admin panel.

You shouldn't use the schedule option inside WooCommerce. The sale price should show automatically. If the sale price isn't showing, e-mail prosociate@soflyy.com with a link to the product, and we'll look into it.

In September. Very soon, we're releasing a new beta version which fixes the most recently reported bugs, and overhauls the search feature and adds support for searching by browse node ID. Once that's tested and stable, we might add a few more features, and then release 1.0.

Louis,

I have been getting "Error 404 , page cannot be found" quite a bit lately, have others had the same problem? Is this being looked at? I am not sure why it is happening?

Thank you,

Xio1 - had the same issue with my products. I changed the permalink settings to common -default and products - default. These are the wordpress settings under the 'settings' tab. Fixed everything for me.

Sounds like you're doing everything right.

I do appreciate the feedback. I was more looking for the specific tweaks you suggest we make in the Bazar theme since that is the theme you recommend (steps 4-6 that I reference in my question above).

I'm not looking for a tutorial or training, but simply the tweaks you made (e.g. Add Xyz slider).

Thank you!

The only thing I did for the demo site was to add the Product Categories and Price Filter widgets to the sidebar in the Appearance section of WordPress.

Hello Warriors,

I need a little help, I have been playing with the plugin, trying to set up a store. I was getting the Error 404 and I was given a suggestion up top, about the permalinks. Now I am trying to set it up again, when I went to menus, I was getting a product categories, now I am not? I am only getting categories, does anyone know how to get product categories back to set up the menu?

thanks,

Xio1

Louis,

I have a question: Every time I do a new campaign, it brings me back 100 products. Is this the max amount it will bring or can that be manipulated? You stated that you will implement the plugin avoiding duplicates in the future; now when I do another search for more of the same products, will it bring me 100 more different ones if they are available?

thanks,

Xio1

That is the max amount it can ever bring for a particular search query, because Amazon's API will only return the first 100 products for a particular search. The upcoming duplicate detection feature won't change this.

Louis,

This is an awesome plugin, Love it! I am learning it and it is finally coming together. Just curious, are you going to give us some videos on how to set this up the "correct" way; I am sure I still have things I can learn.

thanks for the plugin, awesome!

Hey Louis,

I do have another question. I have a couple of products that are clothing and it gives me the drop down box for options, but no options available. I know that a couple of days ago, it gave me size options and colors, now I do not get any except the box and I also do not get a cart button to put in the cart. Not sure if that is the plugin or amazon.

let me know,

thanks,

X

I was able to setup a store that is seeing some organic traffic without doing anything for SEO. Site has over 400 products added with this theme.

Also for those getting 404 errors, I had to use the default post type for the blog. It was actually a woocommerce problem.

Checkout my site using this plugin and Bazar:

Aehs01,

That is a very nice store. The product categories on the sidebar, are those the amazon ones that you have the option of not using and doing your own in posting options?

Did you upload the theme via the wordpress dashboard or ftp?

thanks,

X
