I have a number of years of professional experience editing and proofreading. I've worked as a salaried, upper-level editor in the publishing industry and as a freelancer. I'm a well-educated, native speaker of English, and I don't outsource any work.

Proofreading

When you're happy with the document's content and organization, but you'd like it to have a final polishing with minor corrections.

I'll fix punctuation, spelling, typos, grammar, and the little errors a computer can't catch.

$2 per 250 words.


Copy-editing

When you're mostly satisfied with the document, but you know it needs a bit more than just simple corrections.

Copy-editing includes proofreading plus specific suggestions on structure, organization, choice of words, and minor rewrites.

$4 per 250 words.


Content Editing

When you have the main ideas in print, but the document needs more work to get it to the level of quality you'd like it to have.

Content Editing includes both previous levels plus careful attention to the flow of ideas, style, and significant rewriting suggestions.

$5 per 250 words.


Website Reviews, Product Reviews, and "Naive User" Analysis


I'll analyze your website, e-book, e-course, etc. from the perspective of a "naive" first-time user. I'll give you intelligent commentary and analysis as to what seems effective, and which aspects might need some changes. I'll let you know if portions of the work strike me as confusing, ineffective, too long or too short, etc.

I'll also tell you why I like a particular page, which items most draw my attention, what else I might expect to see on a site of that nature, or in a product of that kind, etc.


$25 per hour, one-hour minimum.



Rates are based on a standardized page of about 250 words. I do a computer word count of the document and charge accordingly.

There's a $25 minimum on all jobs. I bill via PayPal, to your email address, and you can pay with a credit card. You'll receive your edited materials after full payment.

In general, please allow two or three working days for turnaround time.

You are correct that it's not technically a well-formed sentence.

However, that particular line is being used as a subtitle. Titles and subtitles don't need to follow the strict rules of sentence structure.

And besides (says he, beginning a sentence with a conjunction), English that follows the rules too strictly can be dead boring and sometimes even more difficult to read.
