Let's face it...getting your blog upgraded is a lot cheaper than having to fix it up after it's been hacked...not to mention the loss of your hard work and configuration... With the new release, the crackers are afoot to find bloggers who haven't upgraded...in fact, I'm off to upgrade my blogs right now... For a ridiculously low price, I will upgrade your WordPress blog and save you the panicked email I received today, from someone whose blog has been hacked. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ August 14, 2009 Answer to "Why Script Installs Can Be Dangerous!" MOST INSTALL MANUALS Have It Wrong! Why? Because many hosting companies (rightly) tighten up their hosting with such programs as suexec and suhosin. (Don't worry, you don't need to know what these do...I'll tell you what you need to know!) They tell you to set file or folder permissions to "777" (bit speak for allow the user, members of the same group, and the world, read, write and execute.) They frequently will tell you to set it back to something like 644. But that's not the problem. The problem is -- if someone accesses your website and the installed script either accesses a file or folder with those permissions OR attempts to set a file or folder with those permissions, the security software returns an "Internal Server Error" (http response code: 500). YUK! (and no, you don't get sent an email automatically, telling you about the problem.) Here's another problem. Often installations set up special install files. These are dangerous, dangerous files to have sitting around! GOOD scripts will either warn you if the install script is still around -- or even refuse to run. Do you delete those files? I recently installed a script that had 2 files that, to be safe, should be removed -- something to run the first time, and then the install script. The item that you ran the first time ran a call to something called phpinfo. This dumps out extremely detailed information about your hosting configuration and can be used by hackers to exploit vulnerabilities on your site. The installation manual said to remove the 2nd script, but not the first. So What's The REAL ANSWER? Let a knowledgeable, sophisticated and experienced webmaster (and software engineer) do it: me! Judy is a huge time saver! Seriously, a lot of times we will have her install scripts for us because honestly for jobs like this we don't want to have a bunch of back and fourth with a "regular" outsource person. The price is right and the job is done quickly and accurately. We also use her for copy critiques and even some consulting with Copy in general, but more specifically headlines etc... OH wow judy, that's just awesome. I've had the blessing to be using judy virtually constantly these days and ever since about october 2008. our great friendship and business relationship started when i made a post at the WF complaining about copywriters I'd recently dealt with. Anyway, to say that now judy is as useful to me now as my right arm goes without saying. she's done practically everything for me from set up dldguard set up three pillars copywriting set up easy click mate install practically everything under the sun fix problems at an instant when i haven't got a chance in hell of figurin them out and unlike me judy is meticulous....me close enough is good enough....judy no way....she won't stop till its fixed and that's just the way it is. i truly can't recommend judy enough to any warrior to do absolutely anything for you. she's brilliant, friendly, committed and 100 percent professional....plus she knows everything about everything. so if you look in the warrior for hire post and are looking for someone to do anything Id highly recommend that you ask judy, no matter what it is, because i can tell you she'll be able to do it-- unless she can't --- but by the end of the day she will, trust me on that one. warmly Colleen |

Judy is a friend, as disclosure But, she's incredibly knowledgeable about all things tech! I can't count the number of times I've said "Hey Judy -- this script/program is doing X, Y,Z, and it's driving me crazy! What do I do!?"She's very patient and is able to do just about everything you throw her way. These script installs are truly a great deal. Heck, doing these installs is so aggravating for the average person that the asking price is well worth it so you can get them done, without having to go through the frustration yourself. Saving hours of time is well worth the $10+ !!! Way to go on this offer, Judy. |

I've used Judy to do these script installs before because I'm basically techie stupid! She does a great job and for $10.00 you can't beat it! I've also used her a few times for copyrighting advice and my conversions have gone up each time. I'd recommend her for either one no problem!

Judy's just completed a DLGuard installation onto a Dreamhost account of mine. For your information and if you didn't know, this is by no means a straightforward job, it's well documented on DLGuard's forum as problematic (not DLGuard's fault, but entirely Dreamhost's). It's been a pleasure to work with and trust Judy. Communications with her have been friendly, timely and informative and the job got done quickly. And yes, because I bought DLGuard through her aff link, she installed it for nothing. Bite her hand off now before she realises that's just an insane offer. Peter |

Hi Judy! I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for the work you have done to clean up my client's WP site!! The site had been hacked badly and was showing the dreaded "Reported Attack Page" warning from Google. I contacted Judy and she had found just some of the problems within just a few hours - then she worked with the hosting company to sort everything out. She has been patient and so helpful - and I can't recommend her services enough! For anyone who has offline work they are doing for businesses - when you need help with any problems your client's have with their websites - Judy can help you get everything fixed.
