Semantic Theme Analysis of Google Top 10 Web Pages for Your Key Word and Why You Need This to Rank

What is it?

Theme words are simply words that are commonly found to go along with key words when the keywords are used in written content found online. For example, your keyword might be “roulette”. Theme words that go with roulette might be: “table”, “bets”, “chips”, “ball”, “gambling”, and “spin the wheel”. Notice how none of these words and phrases are keywords in and of themselves, but you would commonly find these words in an article about roulette. Google looks for these! If Google does not find these, it assumes that the article or site is not as high of quality as a site that DOES include these words/phrases.

Theme phrase research finds the pertinent words or phrases that are found with the key word or key phrase you are interested in. I have provides some examples below this FAQ so you can see what I am talking about.

This will help you with your on-site SEO (search engine optimization). Please note that using my service or this technique will not guarantee you a top 10 placement for your web page. However, if you do not use this technique, you decrease your chances of getting into the top 10, by a huge amount. Not using semantic theme words puts you at a huge disadvantage to the top 10 sites that DO use semantic theme words.

What is it not?

Theme phrases are NOT key words or key word phrases!
I do NOT provide you with key word or key phrase analysis. You should find your own key phrases (or outsource) before employing my service. You provide me with the key phrases you want me to find the associated theme words/phrases for.

How is it Done?

First, a key word or phrase or phrases are found using your favorite research method. Many on this forum use Market Samurai or the Google Keyword Tool. You then provide me with a phrase or phrases, and I find the theme phrases and words that go with it. The theme phrases are pulled from the top 10 web pages for your key phrase. I find words (theme words) and multiple word phrases (theme phrases) that all 10 pages have in common. I weed out phrases that are not pertinent to your key phrase. For example, the following phrases: “contact us” and “about us” are multiple word phrases that might show up on all ten sites, but obviously, you don’t need these phrases in your content, as they have nothing to do with your key phrase. I get rid of these for you as part of my service.

Why do you need this analysis?

In short, the top search results in Google, aka the top 10 web pages that show up in the organic search results have the theme words associated with the key phrase in question in their content. If you have the same theme words in your content, it is NOT a guarantee that you will rank in the top 10, but it is safe to say that you will NOT rank in the top ten if you don’t have the theme words.

Google also uses this technology in their Adsense program.

In 2003, Google bought a company called Applied Semantics, mainly to acquire the patent on their technology. Google then incorporated it into their algorithms. http://newsbreaks.infotoday.com/nbreader.asp?ArticleID=16713

I have also discovered that doing this analysis on a key phrase will tell you if you niche is too broad. The defining characteristic of a phrase that is too broad is that the multiple word theme phrases that are found are commonly occurring phrases. I will give you my opinion as to weather or not your key phrase is too narrow or too wide for the niche. See the “how to get a girlfriend” example.

A characteristic of a narrow niche is that the theme words and phrases will be keyword rich, and jargon rich (jargon is words specific to an industry, for example, the only industry that uses the phrase “CPA” or “cost per action” are internet marketing industry.

This sounds like something I can do myself, so why should I hire your service?

In a nutshell: to save you time. Here’s a simple example: if have 5 search terms or key phrases that you want to rank for, you will need to run each through Google, and find the top 10 search results for each phrase. That part is easy. Now, you will need to go through all of the search results, or 50 (FIFTY!) web pages, to find the words and phrases that they have in common and tally them up. How many hours do you think it will take you to do this? If you have LOTS of time and patience, be my guest!

I also provide a BONUS!

You will receive with your report (sent to you via e-mail) a Word (or PDF) template that I use when I write or outsource the article I want written, using my key phrase, and the semantic theme words. You can use this template when you order articles or content for your key phrase or phrases, and specify what semantic theme words you want them to use when writing the article.

If I buy your analysis, how do I use it?
Here is how I use it: I generate the report (see examples below). If I find that my niche is not too wide, I can proceed to the next step. I plug the key phrase into my article template (see bonus above)

Example of a somewhat narrow niche. The key phrase is “fly fishing”

The report is below. What the report does not show you is that I have eliminated many phrases such as: “this video”, “has been”, “here are”, “let’s talk about”, and “woman in your life”. As you can see, these phrases don’t really have anything to do with “fly fishing”. They are just phrases that pop up in everyday conversation.
The numbers that follow the phrases indicate the number of times that phrase occurs across all 10 web pages. In my opinion, this niche is not too narrow, and it is not too wide.

Example of a niche that is too wide, and the theme word analysis tells us this by the results, so we know that we should go for a more narrow niche. Notice the high number of each of the phrases, and how the phrases are all phrases used in common speech. The key phrase is “how to get a girlfriend”.

This is quite a twist in keyword research. I never thought of things like this before. It is really logical however since these combinations make sense- They are the real search terms. I have just sent you a PM.
