Dear Warriors,

My name is Tim Carr, and I am a web designer, web developer and IT consultant, with 5+ years web experience and a skillset specialising in Wordpress Theme and Plugin development, as well as mobile and bespoke web site design and development.

This isn't your ordinary, run of the mill service. I'm a consultant - not just another designer. When you come to me with your ideas, I do more than simply execute them; I look at your ideas and make further suggestions to enhance and improve your ideas to better meet your end goals. I'll suggest how a better button placement could increase your conversions, and can work with a number of tools to help track the changes we make to your site, to better improve it later on.

I'm very fussy about my work and pay close attention to detail. I don't accept anything less than perfect, and pride myself on producing web sites that are coded correctly, fully cross browser compliant and as easy to use for the visitor as possible.

I do not have 20 posts yet, so I cannot PM or email you...

I am looking to have a site designed with a similar layout to blogperfume(dot)com.

Would this be much of a challenge to you? Do you work with Wordpress at all? I am hoping to find a Wordpress template that can be altered to look like blogperfume.com so I can control things once the site is built and functional.

There are a few other things I am interested in having on the site as well, including:

1) Users must be able to register. They should be able to have their own username, avatar/picture, be able to contact other members, show their location, age, sex, mini bio, personal website and perhaps their friends.

2) Users should be able to post their own topics. Should they have the ability to do this automatically (with some type of limitations) or should they be submitted to us for approval first? How can this be efficiently achieved?

3) Users need to be able to vote for their favorite responses via either a point system or thumbs up/thumbs down. The topics with the highest ranking (most points, most thumbs up) will then automatically move up towards the top of the page. Anyone can vote, including people who are not registered.

4) Would be nice to have a section/widget for something like, "Hot Discussions", perhaps "Discussion of the Day"?

5) Obviously sections for ads

There are other things I would like as well, but this is kind of the basics.

Is this up your alley?

I have a WordPress calendar or schedule type of plugin with three data entry pages in the Admin dashboard. I would like to make parts of each of these three pages available to registered users on separate pages, so that they can submit information to me for approval and one-click inclusion in the calendar. How long is a piece of string?

All joking aside, it depends on your brief / project specification:

What functionality the web site should have,
Any existing branding / colour schemes / design you're looking to base it on,
What the site is actually trying to do (sell a product? Promote a service?)

If anyone is considering askng Tim for help, I'd just like to add a testimonial.

I've been having a problem with my site, and even asking the hosting company proved fruitless. I asked on various help forums but nothing was forthcoming. This is a problem I've been having for a little while and I was so frustrated.

I asked for some help here on the forum, and Tim kindly answered my plea for help. The kind of problem I was having wasn't something that I'm used to and it was so bizarre that I didn't think it was something that could be resolved easily, but I was wrong (thankfully).

As soon as Tim got to work on it, he was telling me very quickly that he had identified what the problem was, and was giving me information that helped with correcting the fault. I was particularly impressed that Tim was so professional with diagnosing the problem and getting everything back to normal.

I've not known Tim very long, but I think I'm a good judge of character that I have to say that I have no hesitation in recommending Tim's services not just to Warriors but to anyone I know.

I am also impressed with Tim's knowledge of WP and general web design. I am going to be taking some of his advice and it is very invaluable.

This project would be in Sept-Oct time frame but I am starting to look around for the right person ti implement. I will be going back to the proxy business and I will running a Cgi Proxy what I need is squid installed on the front end of it to speed it up. Per this article.

I would also need a better template which is separate from the core files of the proxy. I have 1 currently but it is not what I asked for so I will have it edited. If you are comfortable with proxies and CGI/Pearl code we can talk a bit more.

I am looking to have a site designed with a similar layout to blogperfume(dot)com. Would this be much of a challenge to you? Do you work with Wordpress at all? I am hoping to find a Wordpress template that can be altered to look like blogperfume.com so I can control things once the site is built and functional. There are a few other things I am interested in having on the site as well, including: 1) Users must be able to register. They should be able to have their own username, avatar/picture, be able to contact other members, show their location, age, sex, mini bio, personal website and perhaps their friends. 2) Users should be able to post their own topics. Should they have the ability to do this automatically (with some type of limitations) or should they be submitted to us for approval first? How can this be efficiently achieved? 3) Users need to be able to vote for their favorite responses via either a point system or thumbs up/thumbs down. The topics with the highest ranking (most points, most thumbs up) will then automatically move up towards the top of the page. Anyone can vote, including people who are not registered. 4) Would be nice to have a section/widget for something like, "Hot Discussions", perhaps "Discussion of the Day"? 5) Obviously sections for ads There are other things I would like as well, but this is kind of the basics. I've been having a problem with my site, and even asking the hosting company proved fruitless. I asked on various help forums but nothing was forthcoming. This is a problem I've been having for a little while and I was so frustrated. I asked for some help here on the forum, and Tim kindly answered my plea for help. The kind of problem I was having wasn't something that I'm used to and it was so bizarre that I didn't think it was something that could be resolved easily, but I was wrong (thankfully). As soon as Tim got to work on it, he was telling me very quickly that he had identified what the problem was, and was giving me information that helped with correcting the fault. I was particularly impressed that Tim was so professional with diagnosing the problem and getting everything back to normal. I've not known Tim very long, but I think I'm a good judge of character that I have to say that I have no hesitation in recommending Tim's services not just to Warriors but to anyone I know. I am also impressed with Tim's knowledge of WP and general web design. I am going to be taking some of his advice and it is very invaluable.
