The live chat took care of my issue. Yes, I was locked out, like you said. They updated my login details and I am good to go now.

We don't offer bulk E-mail packages. We throttle outbound email to 200 per account (not domain) per hour. Ideally we prefer clients to manage their email marketing at Aweber, Getresponse, etc...

This helps keep our mail servers clean and allows our clients to use their hosting email accounts for general business and provides a better experience for the overall customer base.

Would you say there was an average maximum number of Wordpress sites that one could host on one shared server? I realize it would be dependent on traffic, and if none had any traffic then the answer could be 100´s of sites I guess.

Is there a certain stage when would it be advisable to get a second shared server setup?

I was just looking at your site to see if you had any VPS or DEDICATED plans. Couldn´t see anything..?

Hi - thanks for the questions...

Like you mentioned --- there is no firm answer to this question.

Even sites with no traffic can use lots of resources if they use an autoblogging plugin at 10 minute frequencies, with 3 on-the-fly language translations on top of two wp backup scripts all configured to backup the blogs twice daily (while pinging the ping services at 60 second intervals...)

As I've mentioned before, we have some clients that are comfortably running 50 wp blogs and others that are approaching resource limits with 1 blog (!)

I guess the stage where you need a second shared account is right before you exceed the resource limits - we give you limited tools in your cPanel that can help you track resource usage, but usually you'll get one site out of the x sites that will put you over the top, fast and without warning.

Regarding VPSes and Dedicated. We don't offer those at Hostdeal as of yet. We are a rock solid, reliable shared provider. We have considered offering a cloud service, but it's really hard to put together a product that would be attractive to Warriors in terms of pricing

If you follow this thread, we will gladly let you know if we launch a cloud service with WSO pricing in this thread.

I bought this hosting and i just want to say "WHAT THE HELL???" this hosting service is wayyyyy too good to be selling a full year's subscription for just $10-20 !! smh WAYYY too good!!! im not even going to get started on the 24/7 live chat support. These guys even tweaked my wordpress site that had an error code across the top. It even runs faster now.

were you high when you came up with these prices? you can tell me, i wont tell any one. i heard crack is one hell of a drug. lol man, i appreciate this great hosting at such a great price. i dont even know what down time is any more! i almost feel guilty for buying it at this price. i'll take it as a christmas present!

Hi - thanks for the questions.

1 - You can buy the $20 package and we will provide you with a single cPanel account. These packages are not meant for hosting client accounts, nor do we provide WHM access to allow other users --- just a single cPanel user.

2 - If all of the accounts were your accounts, then it is possible that a couple of hundred domains could fit on the single cPanel account, obviously pending the resource usage... We can't really say how many domain accounts can fit on a single account because everyone is different. We have some clients with 50+ wordpress domains and no issues, and other clients that hit their resource caps daily with a single intensive blog...

3 - I can't really say how fast our servers are compared to Hostgator --- we don't use them

I've heard some of our clients say we are faster and others say we are slower...

For $20 per year we get unlimited hosting and unlimited domains...

But I see you mentioning some people with 50 Wordpress installations reaching their resource max and needing another account. I'm just a little confused whether it is truly unlimited or if it is not unlimited.

My other question is we are allowed 200 outgoing emails per hour across all of our domains on one account? Is this correct? What Happens if we go over?

I am looking to start making basic Wordpress sites for businesses who aren't online for free, then charge them $20 per month for hosting, maintenance, autoredponder, etc....

Would I be able to this with your unlimited hosting or would I need multiple accounts?

Let me field that question for you

This is from our other WSO thread in the main WSO forum:

Hostdeal has been providing web hosting for over 8 years. We serve over 6,500 customers. Our parent company maintains 3 additional hosting brands serving over 18,000 paid customers.

Regarding a server crash, we had this exact thing happen to one of our servers last year, when it lost it's entire RAID cluster. The recover process was extremely difficult. Our entire team worked relentlessly for two days until we had recovered all of the customer data onto a new server. It wasn't fun.

We posted announcements in our members center and kept the customers in the loop. We answered all WF posts. We communicated with our clients as much as we could, while focusing 99% of our attention to restoring data and accounts.

Now we host our websites in various datacenters - we're no longer married to a single provider (due to the server crash last year.)

Right now we are populating 4 different servers in Atlanta, GA, Clifton, NJ, Dallas, TX and Phoenix, AZ.

Sometimes poop happens. What matters is if your web host is around to deal with the problems. How they react when the poop hits the fan.

We worked tirelessly until all clients had their data recovered. It was a tough process but we had the backup infrastructure in place to ensure no data was lost, even during a catastrophe such as losing an entire RAID cluster.

And we offered the affected customers 1 free month hosting as per our uptime guarantee.

That being said, if you need 100% guaranteed uptime and you're losing $250/hour that you're offline, I'd recommend someone like Firehost that will never go down... You can set your cPanel hosting from $240/month.

Sign up process took less then 30 secs, and account creation took less than a minute all set up now

one domain has been added in to test the water with

gotta wait a few hours for the DNS to propagate through.

Great OTO too after signing up got 2 years hosting for $11.95 so in total spent $23.90 for 3 years hosting, working out at just under $8 per year for web hosting :O

Is this correct? What Happens if we go over? Hi Sign up process took less then 30 secs, and account creation took less than a minute all set up now one domain has been added in to test the water with gotta wait a few hours for the DNS to propagate through. Great OTO too after signing up got 2 years hosting for $11.95 so in total spent $23.90 for 3 years hosting, working out at just under $8 per year for web hosting :O
