WEB DESIGN

Hi all!

We´ve been developing a site named round.io for over two years now, and we´re finally not too far away from a product we can start to market. But, we can sure need some more feedback before we do!

round.io is all about locations, and what to find nearby. We believe it will be a perfect addition to both Tripadvisor, Yelp, Foursquare and more. Both for travel and everyday life.

If you have the time, please take a look, and let us know your opinions!

what he is saying is that English is obviously not your native language. you are going to have to fix the grammar if you intend to market to a US audience.

"Get instant knowledge from everything nearby"

You may want to start suggesting "how" or something else that makes the business stand out.

When I read your headline, I think of sites / apps / options that are already VERY well established.

  Thanks for your feedback. I guess what´s making round.io different, is the simplicity, and the fact that we combine data from both APIs and real people in order to make the content as fresh and relevant as possible. Right now, we haven´t connected more than just a tiny bit of what we will eventually, once we get our fundament 100% in place. And our filtering features will be quite amazing once in place.
  
  Also, we´ll work hard on getting the USP´s right, once our app is in the state we want it to be.

Looking at your homepage it's not clear to me what you're network does. Does it notify me when I'm near something cool? Or does it just give suggestions on cool things to do near me? ...or something else?

I would definitely work on making what it does more obvious.

  Thanks! I agree with you on this one. It´s basically just a matter of taking the time (which we haven´t done yet). So the front page will most likely be improved quite dramatically relly soon. We also plan to open the entire app, so everybody can use it even without registering. You would still have to register to post content, though, but registration will be made extremely easy.

Looks like a good idea for anyone who wants local entertainment info. These type of sites seem to be very popular now. Hopefully, the charm of local info sites won't wear off anytime soon.

Interesting... It looks more like a global chat application where you send messages to everyone and you can filter to see the closest location messages... Am I wrong so far ?

At the moment, that´s how it works. :-)

We´ve done it like this for now, since there isn´t data everywhere yet. When we connect more data, however, this will more or less be turned the other way around. We´re also going to turn the site into a travel exploration app, so it´s going to change a bit very soon.

That´s great! Have a link to that site? We´ve not done this fulltime at all. But it has been a product beeing developed out of an idea about "What´s nearby", and then beeing hacked on for a long time. It can pretty much be used for anything at the moment. Our first attempt at aiming it against a niche will be the travel segmentm which we will start to implement these days.

We´ve spent two years on our spare time. We´ve done the application as general and robust as possible, so we can have several attempts at aiming it against different niches, plus making it into completely different products.
