In photoshop what image size am I gonna wanna use for my landing page thats going to
be most versatile for all screen sizes coming to the page.

    Depends on how big you want the image to be, and how your landing page is set up. I wouldn't save it any bigger than 1000px wide or it will slow down the page. 300 or 400px wide is a good medium sized image. Hard to say for sure without know what your landing page looks like.

      What's the website built with?

      Some Wordpress themes adjust for the width of the display, so you can put images as large as you like and they're shrunk to fit the page, on others, the image will go off the page.

      The added benefit of themes that adjust, is that the images show up well on retina devices if they're shrunk to fit a space.

      People don't tend to scroll too much on a website, so maybe aim for an image that's very wide, but not very tall, so more content is viewable on the page straight away.

      Also when saving from photoshop, use File > Save for Web and choose your quality. Make sure the "progressive" box is ticked as well. That way, the images will be really small for the quality and so your website won't take ages to load if you use larger images.

        no cms. just html. do you think I could use a template for that matter?
        can we talk about saving preferences for web use optimization?.jpeg, png-8, png-24 (progressive)
        like mentioned I cant have a slow page alot of people have less than proprietary
        systems these days.
