Hi,

What do you guys use to track website/hosting downtime?

Not sure if this is the right section to post in.

Pingdom is good for one site for free ...

    .... just realize it's not 100% perfect.
    No tracking system is.
Don't be that stupid person that screams "MY SITE IS DOWN!!111" when it's really not.

I run 2x of my own, and then pay for premium services from Uptime Doctor.

We use New Relic for a bunch of sites and it's great; monitors downtime and a bunch of other things. Not sure how technical you are but you can check it out and see if it's what you're looking for

If you use wordpress, you can use Jetpack plugin.
It has a monitoring module. For free!

Well that's the thing... how do you know your host is reliable? From what they say or word of mouth?

we use the software Anturis, that is cloud-based and it is able to monitor websites, networks, servers etc. The solution us very easy to use and to install. The software gives troubleshooting to the problems and tries to be rather proactive alerting about any potential problem in the future. The price is also affordable for the company.

Get cpanel hosting and use pingdom to monitor website, its not 100% correct always but quit near to let you know if your website is up or down and how long it has been up.

    Test and good product.
