Hi Warriors.

I published a post yesterday sharing my recent experience with iThemes.

I'm on the fence in regards to continue using their products - it's a yearly investment on my behalf.

Would love to know if you have, or currently do use any of their plugins, themes, etc, because it may just be that I've been unlucky this time round...

And I fully appreciate that everyone has a different customer experience.

Thanks.
Kerry

There are things I like about them, and things I don't. Some of their products are great and some of them are a bit behind the times.

I use one theme for a client that is not mobile ready so I was using their mobile plugin which didn't work so well, so had to move off of it.

Backup buddy is their big plugin which I bought and then never used. It was a tad to complicated for me but if you are cloning a ton of sites, well worth the investment.

Their new Sync product is pretty darn good though. I love having one portal to go into and make client updates for 90% of what needs updating.

I don't mind paying updates if they are actually doing updates and providing value (DAP, Sync) but hate paying yearly fees when they never update the product (ithemes templates it seems).

I had a really bad experience with BackupBuddy. It's main purpose is to backup and restore sites. Only problem is, when I needed to do a restore, it didn't work. Was not best pleased.

I've had this problem at one time or another with almost every backup plugin I've used. I have quite a few client sites to keep properly backed up, so I understand your frustration. Eventually, I settled on Backup Creator by Robert Plank.

I keep several month's worth of backups for each site (just in case).

I could really use a solution like backupbuddy, but i never liked the need to put in your cpanel details, seemed like a security risk to me. Also, some backups I've seen others do, the file paths get to long and some times you can properly unzip the file. Or it was the fault of the person creating it.
