Hi, i've got a new web design business & YES I'm new to layout but I can learn really fast.
I know its not quit ready for me to advertise yet, cause I want my portfolio upload first & some add some seo services, change my header, add a favicon, etc.

Could you guys please give an idea of what colors to use or what else I could add/change etc? Here it is www.hotdesignsbyrhoda.com

I also built this site www.jhazzanstudio.com and I like the layout. Should switch themes, maybe? Please give me step by step or detailed info.

    I didn't look at every page of your website, just the Home page and Packages and Features, but this is what I see from a quick glance:

    1. Get a professional header designed. The one you have looks very amateurish.

    2. You have quite a few misspelled or incorrectly used words, i.e., plural words when the word should be singular and vice versa. There are also instances of missing punctuation and incorrect grammar. You probably need to hire an editor or proofreader, if you are unable to see the problems yourself.

    Customers will not be flocking to have you design websites for them if your own does not look professional, for the 2 reasons mentioned above.

    Btw, your second link does not bring up a website, merely website search results.

      I can remake a header, with getpaint. That might work better. And yes, my English sucks I could have it proof written. And change the link on my testimonial

    The first site, the theme your using is the latest default wordpress theme. Probably on 1,000's of sites by now. Not unique. And frankly not the best for design type sites.

    I agree, the header doesn't look the best. Of course if you want to sell design services, it needs to look very professional, or people won't have faith in your skills.

    Hard to judge anything as there is really nothing on the site, just the default theme.

      I think that's negative and useless answer actually. It doesn't have to totally new for me to get clients!!!! I've made and sold sites with free themes many times. And most people don't know or care if it's a free theme or not. They want the work done.

      You could have said what needed to be changed, that's all.

    Where is this coming from? Where did I say it had to be new?

    I said, it is a default theme made by wordpress and probably used by many sites.

    As I also said, it's difficult to say what needs to changed because there is little there. You added a header image and that's it. You made a couple posts. The rest of the site is the theme made by the wordpress team. What else is there to talk about on the site? Please tell me what else needs to be reviewed?

    As far as being negative, do you want people to says it all pretty when it's not? Do you want to know the truth or not?

    I was trying to be helpful, saying that the theme is not really the best suited for a design type or portfolio site.

    Hi Rhoda nice design. I would like to suggest that you try to fit as much of the relevant content and the points and things you want people to see on the area that people see often talked about as above folder, so that people can find straight away what you are trying to show people on your website. Also try to view the site on various devices and screen sizes to see how it works on each one. Keep up the good work.

      I'd like to add an internal link with an image linking to my package page. How would I do that? Also, do a plugin that I can use to show demo sites with a live preview?

    Hi Rhoda,

    Please remember your competing with thousands of Web Design Companies so you have to stick out. I would highly recommend a premium theme to give your customers a 'wow' experience.
