Best Way to Transfer Wordpress Blog to New Hosting?

Hey guys,

I'm transferring a site of mine over to a new host.

I can't use cPanel to backup and restore as my current host isn't using cPanel.

Any good ways? BackupBuddy seems to have issues. I've used it in the past and sometimes my pages fail to load now and have to be refreshed.

I copied all the content and tranferred it over, then restored my SQL but that caused errors like crazy.

I've used https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/ many times and it works great. Plus it is free.

  Won't your new hosting company take care of this for you? Most do.
  
  When I moved all my WP blogs from Hostgator to Big Scoots several months ago, they transferred everything, websites, emails, sub-domains, everything in just an hour or so.
  
  Ask your new host to do this for you, and if they won't, maybe they aren't such a good choice . . .

  duplicator is great plugin,
  
  But you can also transfer to backup database and used theme, images and plugin and upload to new host server.
  
  Note: Before live site to new hosting you need to check all to create temporary based.

why not ask your hosting tech. team to transfer the website for you. you can simply generate a full backup and then ask your new provider to restore it for you.
