Pricing a Magento Project

Hi guys,

I used to have a small web design and SEO business but got out of it for various reasons. I do have a client who was referenced by an old client of mine and looking for an ecom site with about 300 products added to it to be done.

I have given her three options as woocommerce site, magento (recommended) and magento template. I am not sure on the pricing of these as it is a while since I have been out of the web design game (not actually design itself just taking on clients, I still make sites regularly for myself).

Not sure where my price point should be I am thinking in the region of $1,500+ as from memory when you do an ecom store it's quite a project and always ends up with tonnes of changes, adding products and other unforeseen stuff.

All help appreciated.

    Hi Mate,

Yes you are totally right, when we are working with e-commerce sites then definitely we need very unforeseen changes and product updation. Basically I would recommend Magento because you can really custom many things like SEO management to CMS.

The price will depend on many different factors, since you have given us very little detail I can't give you a good estimate. However, I would charge much more than 1500 for a site like that. Just saying

a basic rule of thumb in e-commerce is a base price + $10 per product. So I would say you are a tad short. BUT how many of these have you built? Might go with base +$2.50 or so and see where that gets you.
