Writer portfolio wordpress theme?

Hi guys,

I'm a freelance writer looking for a clean Wordpress theme (paid of free, free preferably because I'm broke as hell right now) to showcase sample articles in the style of a blog while having a static homepage for me to put a bio etc on.

I've googled around and can't find anything suitable, thought I'd ask here and see if anyone knew of a theme that suits my needs?

    Hi, James...I've been working on my own writer website and have found that the theme "Spacious" looks excellent--very clean, plenty of white space on it.

    I like sites that are simple, not visually distracting to readers, and that have lots of white space on them, so a couple others that I've used are "Twenty Fifteen" and the old "Twenty Eleven".

    All of these are free, and I've been able to make visually appealing sites with them.

    Even though "Spacious" has been my favorite free template for awhile, I found that it doesn't always work without glitches. That's why I went back to the others.

    Right now my writer website is on the "Twenty Eleven" template. It looks nice, and it's worked well for posting all the writing samples I've wanted to display.

      I would look for a "portfolio" type site and simply exchange your writing portfolio for the typical image portfolio.

    Go to WP Freeway they offer free website with some high quality premium theme for free. Both theme and website are free. I hope it helps you.
