Hi there,

Apologies if this is a bit of a ridiculous question as I haven't a clue about web design. I'm about to set up shop as a virtual assistant and am going to buy the genesis theme. If I buy a child theme to go with that can I get a designer to customize it just as I'd like it or are their limits? (right now Im looking at the studiopress agency pro theme. Not sure if I can include links but if I can here it is Agency Pro Theme by StudioPress)

For instance on the homepage I'd like to replace a "our works" section (as I don't have any recent works as a start up) with a section of bullet points about the benefits of my service. And Id like to replace "recent articles" with a section on a summary of some of the services I offer.

Are those kind of changes possible? Thanks in advance designer/developer people

You can change a theme completely, if the person programming it knows how.
This is how a lot of people get into making themes, is they start with a default one and build it up.

You are going about things backwards. Get a list of goals together for what your site will accomplish. From there make a list of needed site functionality, and another list of a few sites you want it to look like. Now have the person who will customize it pick the theme. Most of us can work 3 times faster with a theme that we are familiar with.Genesis is a little harder to work with than many, in my opinion.
