Working in a WP theme + I don't know what to fill in here...

These fields control the slider -- but I don't know even what KIND of value to put in there. -- no instructions given.

I tried 1, and I tried :01

When I use 1 (in both fields) I do see one slide (but it just stays on that slide, no fade, no changes) -- and when I use :01, the slider just shows a black rectangle where the pics should be.

Please advise.

    Usually it's set in milliseconds. That is what I've seen on the ones I've used. My current one, I have set to 6000 ms.

    Ron's right, sliders are almost always milliseconds.
    So 1000 equals 1 second.

    Time Between Slides (in milliseconds): 4000 Slide Transition Speed (in milliseconds): 800 for fading.

    Those are my preferred settings, good place to start.
