Wordpress Plugin help - WP tag manager

Hi there,
I have a couple of questions.

I'm having problems adding new wordpress plugins. I'm getting this response every time I try to add a new one.

Could not create directory. /home/content/37/9587737/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-google-tag-manager/

Plugin install failed.

I host my site on wordpress and not on godaddy. Godaddy says they can't help.

Questions:
1. How do I fix this?

2. I'm trying to set up a retargeting plugin. Is WP Tag Manager the best?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Make sure the web server has ownership over the directories.
    With Godaddy, who knows.... ugh.

    Make sure that the directory permissions are correct. (755).

    If neither of those are a problem you'll have to dig a little deeper.
    PHP safe mode on, etc...


    Second, that's a very old plugin.
    That doesn't mean it doesn't work properly, but 2 years without updates is pushing it.
    WordPress has had many major updates in that timeframe.

    Are you using wordpress free hosting? If so that is probably the problem. Your limited to what you can do there, such as what plug-ins you can use.

    I am confused though, if your not hosted with Godaddy, why ask them for help? Guess I am not understanding.

      I thought I was hosting through godaddy but I only have them for the domain name. I could host with them but the guy that built my site said I should just use wordpress to host.

        Okay, I see. But the important question still is, are you using Wordpress free hosting? Is so, you need to get your own paid hosting. Only way to build a real business. Hosting is cheap these days, no excuse not to use it.
