Hi!

Please, suggest the free and usefull software for making the screencast video for YouTube? I want to make the video instruction for my website users, with subtitles.

It's important to have the option to insert or replace the fragments of video, if some parts of screencasted site was changed.

  • I don't think you're likely to get this sort of functionality in freeware. However you can use the demo version of Camtasia free for a few days. Camtasia is mutts nuts for screen casting and well worth the money in my opinion: TechSmith | Camtasia, Screen Recorder and Video Editor

Check that, my mistake. screencast -o-matic is FREE.

They do offer a paid method that has more features but the one I have is a free account and have found it to be very useful. Check it out!

My first vote goes to TechSmith Camtasia, and second vote goes to Screencast-O-Matic, when I'm using Win 7. However, when I'm using my Mac OS, I use the built in screen recorder, which is built into the QuickTime Player. So there is no need to download and install another app.

    Another questions:

    1. What is the optimal screen resolution for recorfing?
    2. Are there any tools to fixing/restoring screen resolution and windows size/position?

I recommend Screencast-O-Matic - Free online screen recorder for instant screen capture video sharing. - they have a free and paid service.

But if you want to have more control and option - I highly recommend you to invest in Camtasia - the price for it will be well-worth it!

    I hope this helps!

    Keep up the great work!

    I wish you the best!

    Cheers!

I’m afraid that there’s no free application have the function in editing video fragments. Nevertheless, I can still give you some advices. There’s a free online tool which can help you record your screen in high quality. You can use its instant editor to add some annotations or subtitle on screen. In addition, its YouTube Uploader can share your video to YouTube directly. Then use Windows Movie Maker (a built-in application for Windows OS) to trip video fragments. If you think my advice is helpful to you, you may access here to try this screen recorder for free.
