Dreamweaver cs3 And A Daunting Task...
Hello all, looking for advice on a daunting task.
Assets:
Dreamweaver cs3
Godaddy Shared hosting
Wordpress Main site
HTML client site (in the future need dynamically created)
Preferred site workings: Someone would signup on the main wordpress site and their site would be dynamically created inserting their name, phone, email and a web address at the end of 7 of the pages identical format. The client site is currently built in HTML and there are 12 pages in each site.
What I'm going to do now because of deadline:
A. I've created the wordpress site and I've created a client folder firstlastname with the address looking like: http://www.ourmainsite.com/firstlastname that contains the index page with the other 11 pages.
B. In the beginning I'm going to have to create each member site, easy copy and paste and then I'll have to add each clients name, phone, email and website if they have one.
What I'm worried about:
C. Our growth factor - We could grow to hundreds even thousands of clients
What if I need to make a change on 2000 sites be it background button or
youtube video? Keeping my assets in mind above.
D. For now I'm going to leave all the pictures and files in one folder and have all the html files point to the full address http://www.mysite.com/resources so if I have to change a background or image I can change it in one place and all the client sites will see the change
i. Is there a way to do this with the youtube videos? if I have to make a new video the links will be different and not as easy to change. Open 2000 pages in dreamweaver and do a find replace in all open documents? Or maybe a few hundered at a time? Would this be eaiser if I had a different video hosting site where it would be easier to change out a video on 2000 pages?
What I'm looking for from you:
1. Advice
2. Recommendations to use different software or services
3. Can you make what I need happen and how much would your services cost?
