I went into my WP-admin and then to appearance setting to access widgets and at top TEXT widget I added Adsense code which appears on top of leftside of my main index page - see CARTOONS | CUSTOM ILLUSTRATIONS | CARTOON SERVICES | DAILY WEB COMIC, however why do all my other pages INSIDE still show an old ad? By that, I mean, go to far right of top menu (Cartoon Catalog) and see all those pages in drop-down show a smaller square ad (at top left of pages) based on old code? I thought I deleted it and successfully added it to main page but all other pages show the old square ad. Is there something I am missing?

Did you clean page cache if you are using any caching plugin?
Did you select your widget for all pages? There is dropdown option to choose page type for an widget.

Did you use WP AD GURU plugin ever? A complete advertising management plugin for WordPress. You can show multiple banner ads in a single place. And you can rotate them in each page visit. For a single ad space you can use different banners for different type of visited pages. Read about many more features on WP Ad Guru - Complete Advertising Management Plugin for WordPress

I have W3 Total Cache plugin installed and it shows being "activated". Not sure where I would go in there to "clean page cache". As for the current widget I am using for that adsense, I go into my WP-admin, then to APPEARANCE>WIDGETS and pasted that code in there....I assume it then shows the code on all pages of my site, but to make sure, where do I click to verify the "dropdown option to choose page type for an widget" you previously mention. Thank you greatly.....

The fact that you have to ask how to clean your cache means you should probably be using a simpler caching plugin like wp-supercache. If you switch it has a setting under advanced that should be set at 'don't cache pages for known users' When you do that you get a 'delete cache' link at the top of the page that will clear the cache for that one page only. After you clear the cache you may have to refresh the page in your browser.

If you stick with Total cache you need to read through as many tutorials on it as you can find.
