A strange Wishlist Member redirection issue - help needed

Hi all.

I have a membership site built and ready to test. I sent around 20 invitations out to people volunteering to test-drive the site.

Those invitations included a link to the registration page of one of the member levels in my Wishlist Member setup. However, while some of the invitees were able to access the registration page without issue, others found the link just redirected them to the site homepage.

I realise this is an issue for WLM support and I am in contact with them, but I was wondering if any Warriors had some ideas? I've already reinstalled an updated version of the plugin and asked the (failed) invitees to try again - a few are now able to access while the rest still can't. I've also gone through the WLM knowledge base - the only mention of this issue is if you give the destination URL rather than the registration URL, but I definitely provided the latter.

I don't think I've had a Wordpress issue before where people receive different results by taking the same action.

Any help is hugely appreciated.

    Hmm - sounds very curious!

Firstly, Just to rule it out.. check your .htaccess and make sure there isn't some crazy stuff in there that might redirect based on referrer (or something.. anything!)

After that, what you need to do is figure out, more precisely, what causes the issue. See if you can get one of your affected users to log into their email account and click the link from your PC (or at least somewhere else). Try to rule out:

    1) The browser + cookies
    2) The mail provider (they may be doing some link tracking)
    3) The ISP (perhaps your registration page had a 301 that, stupidly, got cached by some dumb ISP)

Let me know if you need a hand and I can do a little digging for you..

    Cheers,
    Michael

I've used WL for quite some time and can't remember every having trouble with it like what your getting.

Michael had a good idea. Honestly it sounds like it might be a setting. There are quite a few in the dashboard. If you have not already, maybe double check all those?

I am moving away from WL, so I am probably not much help.
