Why do my url addresses end with a number and not the keywords in the title?

Hi guys,

I’m not a expert on these things but how come my web page addresses end with a number, for example example.com/?p=346

Rather than: example.com/how-are-you-today/

By the way, this is a Wordpress blog. Also, is this going to cause a page not to rank well? And how do I fix this?

Thanks for help

You have to change the permalinks. Settings > Permalinks > Post Name

Then you can have the name of the page in the URL

Thanks for the answer chaotic squid, but will this make a difference "SEO wise" to have the keywords in the url? My pages seem to rank very well, but if they can rank better, that would make me more happy, of course.

By the way, you're awesome man, got it working with a few clicks of the mouse!!

Yes, It will make a great SEO difference. If you make a search in google, you will see the search result is fetched also from the keyword in the website url.
