Default Google's newest Tool...

Page Speed

Page Speed is an open-source Firefox/Firebug Add-on. Webmasters and web developers can use Page Speed to evaluate the performance of their web pages and to get suggestions on how to improve them.

How does Page Speed work?

Page Speed performs several tests on a site's web server configuration and front-end code. These tests are based on a set of best practices known to enhance web page performance. Webmasters who run Page Speed on their pages get a set of scores for each page, as well as helpful suggestions on how to improve its performance.

Why should you use Page Speed?

By using Page Speed, you can:

* Make your site faster.
* Keep Internet users engaged with your site.
* Reduce your bandwidth and hosting costs.
* Improve the web!

Get it at...
Page Speed Home (code.google.com/speed/page-speed)

You will also need FireBug (getfirebug.com)

Both tools are free and will help you analyze /improve your site.

We tried this one out, and fortunately we found we were doing pretty good.
Here is a similar tool:
Yahoo! YSlow for Firebug

PHP Link Directory Script - a great addition to ANY website and much more than just a directory.

My problem is that I tend to install these plugins in Firefox and my FireFox slows to a crawl.... I guess I'm due for a computer upgrade.

Thanks for sharing this. I'll take the time to optimize my sites.

Matt

Well, I for one would love the see Google become a competitor to R.com. I love Google products like Google Docs, Analytics and AdWords. It would be great to have a syndication site that reliably offered multiple photos, VT links and listing agent contact info AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE (or maybe even free….unlike R.com). Of course, that does open up some FSBO issues.

Unfortunetly yahoo slow is not compatible with the newest Firefox unless you modify its install package. :-)
