Have my site thought out, dont know what to do next

I've had sites developed quite a few times in the past and have taken sometimes similar but usually different routes.

I am not a designer or developer myself so will be using service providers.

The idea I have is to go to somewhere like 99designs, use their services to find a great designer, select a design and have the site designed.

Then go to to somewhere like Elance or Upwork and find a great developer that can put it all together.

The reason I wouldn't go with a 99designs developer is because their Jimdo solution wont work for the site I am building.

If any of you have any suggestions or think I am going about it the wrong way, let me know.

    Why don't you try the WF classifieds ads section.

    Maybe you can find a good designer/developer that can assist you with your project.

    Either go on Elance or find a web design / development company to do it for you if you do not know how to build a website.

      They may be able to, i've just never found anyone on the WF that can do anything complex and I have been here some years now. Mostly these guys from what I have seen are good at doing sales pages, opt in forms, wordpress sites etc. happy to be shown otherwise.

      It's not that I dont know how to build a website. Its as easy as point and click now days. The site will be a little bit complex and will either need to be completely custom coded or be customised.

      What do you think of my current plant, getting a designer to design it and then as you say go to elance and find a developer?

      The reason I want to use crowd sourcing methods for both the design and the development is based on my experience. I prefer being able to set the brief and then have people compete for the work. I also find the prices are more in my ball park and I like the fact that a third party can mitigate if something goes wrong whereas a local design and development company would charge me at least double, they would product the work slower and if something goes on its just between them and I or my state based consumer body.
