How do you keep you post picture from getting cut off on the category page?

I've noticed on other people's websites, the small pic on their category page is exactly like the pic on the page itself except a different size. How do they manage to do that? When I add a post to a page it cuts the edges off of the pic when viewed from the category page (the category that the picture is in). This is particularly a problem when I have a frame around my picture - some of it gets chopped off.

I'm using Wordpress btw.

  • If your theme supports it you should be able to go to your categories and click edit and you will see something like thumbnail for a place to add a picture. If the picture gets cut off, use your code inspector to determine what size image is required for that spot and create on that size and upload and add it to your thumbnail.

I suspect the theme has a "suggested size" for featured/post images, and if the size is too big/wide/high it cuts out part of the picture when creating the thumbnails.

Check the theme documentation, and/or ask on their support/forums, for any options you might be missing or suggested image size.
