Can't Get Nameservers To Propigate

I'm at my wits end. I've done this dozens of times and never had an issue before.

Bought a handful of new domains from GoDaddy for a landing page campaign. I changed the nameservers to my Hostgator's. I did this on July 4th so I thought maybe the servers were slow to pick it up. I patiently waited until yesterday the 6th and I still can't see the domains on my Hostgator's cPanel.

I talked to support at Hostgator and they said maybe because I changed the nameservers literally 30 seconds after I bought the domain names it didn't pick them up because the domains really weren't registered to me yet.

So I simply changed them back to GoDaddys early on the 6th. An hour later I was able to change them again to my Hostgator's. Now it's 24 hours later and they still aren't showing up.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Mods I apologize if this is in the wrong topic.

Thanks,

Can take up to 24 hours to propagate. Do a WHOIS on the domain name and see where they are pointed to today.

He said it's already been 24 hours.

      Perhaps check with GoDaddy support?

Also, you say that you "can't see the domains on my Hostgator's cPanel". Where are you looking? I normally just use the "addon domain" option, type in the details, and then check the domain name occasionally to see if it's propagated (after editing the DNS settings on the registrar end of course).

  • Check the whois and see what the nameservers say. Maybe there is a mistake.

Anytime I make a nameserver or dns change, I check it with: DNS Lookup tool, Reverse DNS lookup tool - www.DNSWatch.info as it looks everything up real-time / doesn't use any cache. So if there is a problem, you know right away.

Make sure that you correctly configured the nameservers (the format of writing the name servers). It takes about 24 - 48 hours. In extreme cases 72 hours. So wait for a few days and if things won't go right, contact their customer support.
