Finding those buried treasures

Hey everybody. Been a little while since I've been on here but still haven't really seen many good topics on here lately. I've been doing some updates to my site and decided that I would make some changes to the about me section and include some more about what I like to do and who I am. This is what I included underneath of my pic.

"My name is Matthew Brown & this is my wife Amy. I like that I can show everybody honest ways to make a extra income just from blogging about what they have a passion for doing and finding buried treasures."

Do you think this is enough to explain what the site is about and get people to follow me on social media? I also just added a new article today and that took me a couple hours to write this morning but I think it turned out good. All well, just wanted to get some advice from everybody and see what you all thought about this. Wish me luck tho

Yeah. The articles are mostly about metal detectors and finding buried treasures but I'm really hoping to help others start their own blog if possible. I've seen a food blog that does the same thing and it's mostly where I started getting my inspiration to do this. I removed the part that you included and think the other part is probably enough as well

What you wrote is enough to explain what your site is about, but it is not enticing. But being enticing doesn't matter if a person is already on your site. If the content on your site is excellent, and really gives people blogging help, then you will be able to get people to follow you on social media if you have the same quality advice on your social media account.

Getting a following on social media is more about engaging with others on the platform. Just hoping people will "follow" you won't get you far. Just saying

I agree, your about is not very exciting. Gotta give them a good reason(s) to want to know more.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong in "finding buried treasures". This will add curiosity and you will get many prospects who are already bloggers and they will join you just to see what blogging secrets you have for them on the table.
Further, "finding buried treasures" is probably your USP (Unique Selling Proposition); else your message will not be different from the rest of the lot .
