    Best way to use a slider is on your home page, showing off the elements or main things about your website content. Another option is for gallery use.

    Slider can be used in many ways. If you want to use a slider in your website then, it can be easily done using a wordpress theme. As Wordpress themes already includes slider functionality. You just need to edit your relevant images to that.

    Typical homepage sliders work well to emphasize overall site aspects as do category sliders to emphasize category aspects

    It's a good way to show off some of your content. Like the more popular, or content you want to "feature". It's nice because it can be visual and text. Like a background image with text over lay. That is how they are used by most sites.

    Or you can use it in different ways. I recently set up a slider to display my testimonials. A slide for each one and it cycles through automatically.
