Hi,
If you are a small business owner who is not technical and has owned a website or has gone through the effort of setting up your own site using Wordpress or other CMS (Content Management System) tool then you will benefit from this thread.

I am researching to understand what are the most common issues/pains faced by small business owners today who setup and maintain their own site using tools like Wordpress.

The reason for my research is to help find solutions for current and future small business owners.
  1. How did you go about setting up your website?
  2. What were your 3 biggest frustrations during setup?
  3. What are your current 3 biggest frustrations for maintaining your site?

Once you share your story, I will do my best to help you ease your current frustrations related to your site.

I encourage others to offer help to each poster as well.

Thanks.

    Hi there,

I appreciate your effort for this research. Although I'm not a small business owner. But I liked your way of conducting a conclusion in this flow of setting up a website.

Well the most things I have seen non-technical people face is using a CMS. Although Wordpress is very user friendly but still sometimes they have to be a bit technical about right plugin usage or to edit right things at right page. Since people these days prefer drag and drop type tool feature most then to understand HTML and CSS a bit.

That's why as per my idea Custom CMS are most effective for non-technical people. We can train them in our own way since CMS is our built thing in front of them. We can easily customize any part in CMS also as per individual requirement.

That's what the bottom line as per my understanding !

    Thanks.

    • Hey rocky110,
That's a good point. More often than not, Wordpress is considered to be very user friendly and I agree, but then when I hear from non-technical people, they still find it a bit challenging to install and setup their site on Wordpress.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I hope more people chip in and share.
