  • Yes, they can. If your topic is popular and you choose the right title. Also, it can help to embed your videos into your blog posts and, in your blog posts, link to your video on your Youtube channel.

Also, having a video, or two, in a blog post can keep readers on that post for longer, which lowers bounce rate. Eventually this can help you rank too, some say.

      Banned
      Why not both

but vlogs would give you more traffic if you're speaking in front of the camera, good editing skill and plus great content.

I think video blogs are not pretty well for increasing traffic. Normal blogs with related images are more effective as usual for getting people to the site. People watch videos for entertainment. I'll prefer you normal blogs rather than video blogs.

actually I use to do normal blogging.

With unique contents..and add one or two videos.

in fact not much traffic sometimes it does a lot

      than I do video blog

the blog is all videos but is more into fitness

still the same result but I noticed bounce rate drop slightly perhaps due to video , visitors tend to stay on the site for a while to watch

    1) Use Text Effectively
    2) Use Images Effectively
    3) Always include a high quality, relevant and engaging video

Don't ever throw a video on there just for the sake of including a video.

I think one is not better than the other, however, it is proven that video blogs tend to maintain the attention of visitors longer. Video blogs tend to resonate more as it can establish a better relationship with your audience but using normal blogging can be just as powerful, especially with compelling content and the inclusion of relevant images.

Well if we are providing same information in both then video will be the best option. Make video little interesting with full of information.

In addition to this you'll have to take care of server strength as it would require more bandwidth and server resources to streaming your video so think all these.

May be initially you can go with youtube channels to start and once you have good visitors then you can migrate. I'd suggest to start taking your own server and promote in youtube and other channels.

Why not to create a video verison of each post? Use youtube for video posts, and WP blog for blog posts.
    It works pretty well.
