I have designed a website but have difficulty uploading it.

I used Photoshop to do the design. However, if I upload the photoshop design to my website it displays aligned to the left with the white space at the side.

I then brought the files to dreamweaver, but I'm having problems uploading the files with dreaweaver as i have very little experience with it.

Is their anyone, who can help me with knowing what to do to get this site launced. I have been trying for some time and hope that I can find someone that can help me with getting this done.

Thanks In Advance

I usually get the same problem, are you making slices from photoshop?
An easy way would be edit the website through FrontPage (if you have it) and optimize it for IE only, it will look different in FF but trust me most people who just know the basics use IE!

Or let me know if i can be of any help.

The problem is you created a PSD file when you use Photoshop and you need an html file to post to your website.

If you search Google for software to convert PSD file to html you will find articles and free software to do this for you.

I just recently read about this problem.

      Hope this helps you.

    • The information does help some what. I do know how to center the website page with dreamweaver and get rid of the white space on either sides. However, one of the problems I face is to just upload the website.

I have watched youtube videos to help me with this, but when i uplaoded the site there were no images just a blank page with the sliced lines from editing in photoshop. It took forever to load. I did read where it said i need to save some of those slices as non-image, to help the website load faster.

I still face a second problem, as I have a 2 page website and uploading the second page is not working. I uploaded the second page but when I type the destination url in the web browser it still displays the home or main index page. What could I do to resolve this?

I wish that everything could be done in photoshop, both centering and adding the background to elimnate the white space. I would have been done with my project already.

      This is so frustrating....

Thanks for your advice and help guys.

        Hi CladestineMarketer,

To accomplish what you are trying you would need something like this

SiteGrinder - Take Ownership of Your Website

But then you have to learn how that works and buy the software (I think they have a 15 day free trial).

There are a few other ways to do it but what you end up with is something that needs additional work afterward anyway. No good and easy way to convert a PSD to XHTML.

Given that you have more than one page and having problems with uploading I think this may be a case where you think of getting someone to fix it up for you. If you have the design already it shouldn't cost much. If you have what you say it wouldn't take me more than an hour or two to do so no one should try to squeeze you. Look around the forums and find someone reasonable.
