Hello WF,

Im sorta back. Ive been away for while now. I used to be somewhat active around here back in the days before it got bought out.

Anyways. I created this list of free stock photo websites for web designers / developers. I wanted to see if I could get your feedback?

Here is the list to the free stock photos for commercial use

The resources are contain images released under public domain (cc0 1.0 license) so anyone can use them for personal or commercial without needing to pay or provide a link or credit back to the original owner.

If you found it helpful I would appreciate if you could reshare it. Took me literally 8+ hours to write it out. I re-edited it like countless times. If there is something that you think is wrong with it. Comment here. I would love to hear what you think and I could use your feedback for future revisions.

Let me know what you think

Whoa. Thank you so much for sharing this. I've been scavenging all over the internet for free stock photos. Stock photos costs a lot nowadays. That I don't quite get given the fact that we're living in a digital age now and almost everyone has a camera, so I'm wondering why stock photos or normal-loooking photos are expensive. Whew. Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing this. This is going to be a very big help.

    Hello Dennise.

Im happy to hear you found it helpful! Stock photos are expensive and add up overtime if you need to buy alot. Don't forget though you need to make sure they are under the cc0 1.0 license aka public domain photographs.

Im wondering if you have any suggestion for how the post could be even better? I want to make it the best I can for people like you

That is a great resource. Some of the sites I knew about, but several I had not heard of before. Thanks for your hard work in putting this together.

Anyone using " stock free" photos better check the user rights agreements.

A few years ago I received a letter from Ghetty Images complaining about the use of photos on a website I developed for a client.

Photos that were legally downloaded at the time as stock free but were later re-organized as under a producers credit or something to that effect.
They wanted nearly $4k in user fees.. and were threatening to sue.

I suggest you keep great records on any current user agreements they got posted or that you have to digitally agree upon.

Luckily for us we were able to prove that the photos were legally ours and under the correct user license. The suit was dismissed internally by them and it was blamed on a internal database issue / reorganizing at Ghetty that caused this issue.

Perhaps a freak incident.. but looking at $4k lawsuit is no laughing matter.. maybe it was an attempt at a shakedown by con men.. I really dont know.

Just be careful with these less than known stock-free photo offerings. Might be a trap.
