Would like honest opinions please. I am a newbie at this sort of thing. I've played around with making websites before but never anything big really. I have a couple of domain names that I have created that I think are really good. I'd like to see them all, but for sure at least 1 of them thru and work on it becoming a good website. But like I said I don't really have much experience in web development.

I'm still playing around with different ideas on what to use these "potential websites" for. But here are some ideas.

Website 1) This one I can see being a forum with picture and video sharing as well as, paid classified ads.

Website 2) more of a blog type website, with some selling on it, possibly a forum later on. but more like a "how to" "Follow along" kind of blog. It has potential to create its own brand.

Website 3) I can see this one as being a business/brand name. Selling a variety of products with this particular brand on it. I don't see much of a blog or forum type with this domain name.

So I'm wondering, Being a newbie at web development of the 3 types of websites, which type do you think would be easier for a newbie to create? Or is it even possible. I get frustrated because I have all these ideas that I can see for something, but it can't get them onto "paper" so to speak.

Why don't you just try them out...
    1) There is lots of forum software out there, set one up and get the forum going (Vanilla forums one example)
    2) For a blog use Wordpress
    3) Use a simple solution like GoSpaces, Wix, etc...

It might be good practice / learning for a newbie to build any of the above, but no need to try and re-invent the wheel, just get going with an off the shelf solution / open source solution. You can do all of the above for free a few dollars. Try and get some momentum behind one of the sites, see if you can get traffic and users returning and see where it goes from there. Then you will have lots of opportunities for customisation / improvements / development.

Thanks for the reply. I've been thinking about this all day while I sat in class for something totally NOT internet related lol. But I think I will play around with each one and see what I can come up with.

If you are confident that the products will sell I'd go with option 3.
Otherwise option 2 is more of a safer bet.
