Awesome, i visit net.tutsplus.com almost everyday, they publish new tutorials everyday and the topics they cover are wide, check it out. Anyway what you found is great collection of tutorials.

Aloha Bill,
Many thanks for posting this link which is exactly what I needed to solve my html newbie issues!

I just can't seem to add text on top of a gif that looks like a pinned post it note that I want to write on though

I wonder if anyone can suggest something? I am using MS Front Page and the site is
discovering-the-law-of-attraction.com (check the testimonials which have that pinned post it note).

I created a text box, set clearbackground, no lines, and stuck it on top of the gif...but even though it shows fine in 'preview mode', the text box is moved towards the bottom, within the testimonial field, after it is being uploaded...

Anyone able to help pleaaaaase! I am close to having the page finished and submitting it to click bank, but am stuck with this issue now.

Many thanks to anyone willing to make a difference today.

Hi Nick

I think the best way to do what you want to accomplish would be to place both the "post-it note" graphic and your desired text within their own set of <div>'s. You could then use your style sheet to position the text over the graphic. You will want to use the z-index property to make sure that the text comes out on top.

A great resource for information about doing this is, of course, W3 Schools. Here is a link to their page on using CSS to position objects on a page:

I haven't personally used Front Page for about 10 years now so I wouldn't be able to describe the steps you'd need to take to accomplish this, sorry.

Holy cow! A great resource...thanks. I'm committed to "getting there" some day. Right now, though, this is over my head. Any advice on how to start creating my own sites more easily? I'm looking at XsitePro. Opinions? Advice? Recommendations for better "beginner" site creation tools? My experience to date is using a template to create a 5000+ product sales site, and the creation of a very simple squeeze page using Nvu. That's it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
