Default HTML site for potential offline client-couple of questions

Hi all,

I have a potential offline client that really could use a shopping cart added to their site. Here is the site in question:

Strung Out on Beads and Coffee

The site seems okay in every aspect except the way a customer has to order one of their items. Even the order button does not work.

I am used to working with Wordpress as a cms.And I know how to add Paypal html code, however this site appears to be an html site.

Now to as to adding the Paypal shopping cart, would it be as simple as taking each page and editing in an html editor and then re-uploading the pages to their site?

Also can you make any other suggestions for the site? Some great free coffee rides on this-ie barter!

TIA

If the client wants to stick with the site as it is, then you've got no choice. The only thing you could really do is to add the Paypal button MANUALLY for each of the item -- which is going to take a lot of work, in some of the categories at least.

For the long run, I think it's just best to do a complete overhaul altogether.

If you're used to working with Wordpress, perhaps you can convert the site into Wordpress format and then use one of those shopping cart plugins that are available. This is going to take a lot of time also, just like manually adding Paypal buttons... but it allows for growth.

You can use other shopping carts if you can do without Wordpress.

I'm not sure about the wp shopping cart plugins but I would use zen-cart or OS Commerce or one of the other free shopping carts. Be sure to follow their security procedures to insure the site is locked down if you do use one.
