WP Edit posts error - "No posts found"

I have a problem in my WP admin and can't figure it out, if someone else has experienced this any advice would be appreciated.

I logged in and wrote a new post, and then set it to private, and then published it. I then wanted to check how I'd done something in an older post and so clicked on Edit under the posts menu. But instead of seeing all my posts, I just get "No posts found". It still has the correct numbers just above that for All/Published/Draft etc, and the posts are all still visible on my blog, but they've disappeared from the admin area. The same this is happening for edit pages.

After searching wp support and google I've checked my htaccess and run a repair on my WP database, plus logged in and out again, but nothing has worked.

Has anyone else ever had this?

Thank you!

Same thing with me, but I ignored it. I double checked my posts and all of them are active. Maybe its just a little error and I hope will be fixed soon.

    Cheers!

So you're just editing posts the long way round? I upgraded my WP to the latest install and it's still broken.

Did you change themes or change permalinks or something like that?

I had a similar problem where I lost all my posts (boy, was I upset!).

If I remember correctly, I ran a repair on the Wordpress database via Cpanel and it fixed the issue. But it sounds like you might have already done this.

Charles nopes, I hadn't changed anything for quite awhile. John, I ran a repair both through cPanel direct and with a WP plugin.

However, the strangest thing happened this morning. I had restored database backups from earlier in the week before I went to bed last night, so I had them before they rolled off the incremental backup. This morning, I clicked on Edit Posts again one last time before restoring a database backup, and voila! all my posts are back again.

I have no idea what happened, but I'm glad it's working again. I just hope it doesn't become a regular occurance!

Thank you all for your help .
