Feedback: Site layout

Hey guys...new to the forum and would like some advice on my site. I have some people say the site is bogged down with too many images/links and takes too long to load. Also any comments on the site in general would be greatly appriciated!

Hi Drake & welcome to the forum. Here's my 2cts' worth.

The black background behind the banners seems wrong somehow. Kind of clunky & not a good fit with the rest of the page.

The Google Ads bar really detracts. It throws an element of confusion into site navigation, and makes the site less professional looking.

There is a border on the left, but the right side of the page butts right up against the scroll bar.

In the top section, try putting the headline text next to the images, rather than underneath.

Other than that, I like it. Hope that helps.

Well, the setup of the site is decent, easy to navigate, sort of. Could use some work. Like Aronya said, the black doesn't fit at all.

Having all of the images are ok because they're a "preview" of what the news is or what the news is about. The site doesn't take long to load at all, was instant for me.

I think one solid color for the entire site would be better. Possibly a better design in general.

I'm a graphics and web designer, so if you'd like a new layout, I'd be more happy to make one for a small fee. =)
