How important is the domain extension???

As we know it's hard to find any good domains for cheap anymore. So I found a good one with a .pw extension. Like it's the best I could go with and it cost one buck for the first year. So that fits my budget.

But will that .pw look really lame? Like how bad will it damage the sales process? My thought is that the customers eyes will only glace at it at first. Then likely focus on the sales message itself. So they're not gonna be focusing on the domain name. Then my plan was if and when things start to work out and if I see sales, I'll spend some money on a good .com.

I did that before and it worked out. Is that a good plan??? Any other suggestions???

The SERPs don’t have enough space for the pending flood of gTLDs, and even if they did .com & .org have the public trust over oddball domains.Click-through rates affect organic position, and consumer credibility ‘clicks’ should favor .com & .org. With only 10 organic slots (or less), I predict the new flood of gTLDs will fall to ‘no man’s land’.

Well the .pw TLD is meant for the country Palau. So if you want to target that country then it would be ok to use that tld, it will look good. If you are not targeting Palau then I would not buy that domain name.
