Default Wordpress/Paypal code problem

Hello again,
I'm getting close to having my site complete but just ran into another problem.
I wanted to add a paypal button at the bottom and I went to paypal and got the code.
I pasted in the code at the bottom and when I went to view the page It had totally changed.
All my html color tags were gone, my <br> tags for the entire page were gone and instead of my one pic of my ebook I had the whole gallery with about 10 pics showing up on my page.

Its a lot of work to go back and re-code the page so I want to see if I can figure out what happened.

Anybody have strange things happen after adding in code from paypal??

Can anybody maybe tell me where I can see a list of codes that work with wordpress?
I see instead of a font color="green", wordpress is using a <span> color code.

I've been digging around for a couple of hours and cant find this info anywhere or people having problems inserting paypal buttons.
Thanks very much!
Mm

This is a known issue with Paypal & WP, an easy fix too...

On WP the Paypal embed code will not work by default, the fix is simple. You must link your buy button/graphic to the link Paypal gives you for an email buy link for it to work on a wordpress page. Look for that email buy link at paypal and you will get the link url you need to point your buy button to on WP & you are in business.

When linking to this email link url you have to have your own buy button too, but the paypal buttons can be obtained from their site or other sites, and saved to your server to use on your WP pages.

Here is a page of mine on an unlaunched/nearly complete site that has a paypal button in WP linked to the email url provided by paypal.

I was fairly sure that someone had to have run into this problem.
Thanks very much for the info. I will have to go over it a couple of times before I figure it out but I'm sure now I will get it.
Thank you very much!

PS Nice looking site!
