Try Notepad, WP Coda, or The Unstandard.

Well not free, but I've downloaded alot of free ones and they are always "blog" looking. However, take out the ads on the front page, make the first page called "home" and move the "blog" to another tab and that makes it more of a static site. (or don't have a blog at all).

I've downloaded many blog templates, but found a site that you can download all his templates for about $20 and they are very nice looking... I think he did have some free ones there also.
Name of the site is elegant themes dot com

Now these I really like... and I found that it's worth the $79 to get an itheme / flexxtheme -- right now there is a buy one get one free offer.

Good luck... sorry no free ones I can recommend off the top of my head.

Again not free, but WordPress Themes, HTML Templates - ThemeForest have some great non-bloggy looking themes.

I'm actually planning to put a few like this together myself in coming weeks.

Lots of WP theme sites at the bottom of this article:

you may find what you're looking for there...

Cheers,

Martin.

Well, if you understand the code in a page, you can change the look of any theme to be just about anything that you want.

I often find a free theme that is sort of the way I want it to look... Like sidebar location and the right column span, then I open the PHP files on my system and start editing them to get the look and feel I am going for.

You can also design a custom template page(s) in any editor, ad a single line of code to it and then use it as a replacement on the site. This way you can have a static front page that looks nothing like a Blog Site at all.

You can then build more pages like this if you want to.

I am currently working on a site that has 15 custom pages that have a structured menu system that has nothing to do with WordPress.... But the Client will be able to change the main content area inside of the WordPress admin panel...

Wordpress is very powerful if you just dig in a bit and look under the hood... And of course if you understand a bit of the code behind the pages.

If you want to learn about the custom pages I am talking about, have a look at this link. Pages WordPress Codex

Hope that gives you an idea to break you out of the box...

Have a Great Day!

I don't know what criteria website you want. Mini site or portal sites.

By the way, for Wordpress blog, if you plan to have a good themes or template for free just looking around this website.

1. http : // w w w . freewpthemes . net/
2. h t t p : // wordpressthemesbase . com/

Sorry I'm new in this forum. Can't post link
