Default opt-in set-up question

warriors...

How do I set up an e-book for prospect
download after they opt-in? (from a form)

Should this be done with-in Wordpress
or on my host site?

P-l-e-a-s-e start from the very beginning
as I have no idea how to do this.

Sorry for being a pain in the back-side,
but I could really use some help with this.

I've searched site point, W3 School, html goodies,
plus others - Didn't even know what I was looking for.

so ANY help would really be appreciated.

Thanks
tailrunner

Do you already have an optin form? If so, what is the html code for the optin/form that you use? You'll have to set the redirect (after customer fills out form) to your download page.

Basically what you need to do is upload the ebook to your host, and then include the link to that ebook in the message that gets sent out.

So you need to connect to your account either via an FTP client, or via the File Manger in cPanel.

Then, the address of your file will be www . yoursite . com / yourfolder / yourebookname.pdf

You then have a download link that you can include in the email that gets sent out to the prospect.

Also, if you have your own autoresponder or you use aweber or a service like that, you should have a place to set the form up and a thank page.

As soon as someones subscribes, they are redirected to the thank you page where you put the download link to your e-book.

I am writing here from beginning stage:

1) Upload the ebook in your host. Ex: http:/ rdomainname.com/file/ebook.pdf

2) Create one download page and give the download link in that file. Ex:
<a href="http:/ rdomainname.com/file/ebook.pdf"> Download Here</a>
Give the name of this html file as download.html (example)

3) Go to your aweber account and give the path of download.html in confirmation message setting. Once they confirm your request they will be automatically redirected to your download page. By default there will be a aweber thank you page.

4) Alternately you can send one followup message containing link of your download page. Keep the interval 0. Once your subscriber confirm your request, instantly they will get your follow up message.

Hope it helps

Good Luck
