Can I Speed up NameCheap sharehosting?

Hi my warrior buds, this is the case:

- I will be building a website, a simple one to offer some services (not products or physical items), plenty of relevant content: text , some videos (from a youtube channel possibly), and not too many pages, maybe some interesting interactive design if I got to know about one that I like, the big question is: what type of hosting service should I lease?

- I just bought my domain from namecheap, and possibly will be buying a hosting package from them too, (even though I read someone saying that you should not buy your domain name and hosting from the same company...??... I do not get the reason why of this? ... in any case, 2nd question is: is it possible to buy the cheapest namecheap sharehosting ($9.88 for first year) and then boost it in some way with any techi treak?... this comes to my mind given the case that namecheap is not fast enough or gives issues, (anybody in sharehosting there to inform a little bit more please)? ... I hope you can help me as I really need to solve this and take decision asap!

    Pay more for the wordpress hosting.
    Costs more but the speed is worth it.

    I do not think that they sell wordpress hosting,but the equivalent that I use is Most Popular

    C$26.99/yr...
    I have used them over a year,and the service to me knocked the other big named host out of the park.
    Self installed.
    There are other hosts that are more expensive,but to me,the more bang for the buck worked well.

      Hi Will, thanks for the advise, but what's the website of that hosting company? ...I already had to take a decision and just bought the value sharhosting at namecheap, I hope it works as I expect, and got some way to boost its speed, my site will not be complex though it will be linked to my youtube channel, and also some good pictures, but mainly text-content.

      Please the name of the hosting?
